The Old Farmhouse in Northumberland receives high praise for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and well-equipped facilities. Guests appreciate the property's quiet location with stunning views, ideal for exploring the region. The enclosed gardens are a hit with families, and the owner's warm welcome, often with thoughtful touches like wine and sweets, adds to the charm. While some minor niggles are mentioned, the overall sentiment is extremely positive, with many looking forward to returning.
Guests consistently note the property's cleanliness, describing it as 'beautifully clean', 'well maintained', and 'spotless'. The attention to cleanliness contributes significantly to the positive experience.
The location is praised for its quietness, beautiful views, and proximity to local attractions. It serves as an excellent base for exploring Northumberland and the Scottish Borders, although some guests note the nearby road can be busy.
Reviewers find The Old Farmhouse to be comfortable and spacious, with special mention of the cosy atmosphere and the property's ability to accommodate families without feeling crowded.
The property is well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, though some guests suggest additional items could enhance the experience. The gardens and BBQ are appreciated, but the mention of slow internet and lack of games indicates room for improvement.
The owner's thoughtfulness is highlighted through gestures like welcome packs and fresh flowers. While these gifts are warmly received, it's important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed with every stay.

The property is spacious, well equipped and comfortable. When we arrived the heating was on and we felt very welcome. We really cannot fault the property or its owner - highly recommended.

We appreciated having 2 sitting rooms with TV's plus 2 bathrooms upstairs. It's handy having a separate utility room with an extra fridge, plus downstairs toilet. We particularly enjoyed sitting outside both at the front with the lovely view and at the back in the enclosed garden with a BBQ. The owner is very welcoming and hospitable - and we hope to return for a 3rd stay one day!
Mr
The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, but left us alone. We found it reassuring to know that someone with local knowledge was living next door. The only surprise was the extremely large farm building that runs all the way across the rear of the house, this blocked out any view from the rear of the building, although I suppose that being a farm you are going to need farm buildings. It was the fact that I could not find any mention of this when booking the property. However the view from the front of the property was stunning looking over to the Cheviots & watching hareâs & other wildlife in the field directly opposite on a daily basis. Thank you for allowing us to stay in such a beautiful place that you obviously love so much. The wine and biscuits we found when we arrived were a lovely treat.
