Before our trip we were concerned by the negative reviews from dog owners. This house is ‘dog tolerant’ not dog friendly. There were many ‘do nots’ in what we called the ‘unwelcome pack’ rather than a ‘welcome pack’. In fairness to the owner's many of them shouldn’t need saying but there are clearly some gross people about who think it’s okay to leave dirty nappies in bedrooms and not clean the BBQ after use. Given the field full of sheep and the low wall from the garden there was no way I would have left my dog off lead as he could easily have escaped! No dogs on furniture even if you put your own, clean, blankets on was unhelpful and blaming guests with allergies is laughable - if you had such severe allergies that one stray dog hair was a problem you wouldn’t book a holiday home that allows pets at all! The hot tub was lovely as was the spa bath and the views are stunning. Very close to lots of activities and the perfect space for a large extended family holiday. The shower in one of the en-suite rooms didn’t work and a remote control was missing. I would happily stay here again even with the amount of rules.

We had a lovely stay at the farmhouse. Great place for seeing the sights around us. No more than a 15min drive in each direction for all the things we wanted to do. Hot tub was lovely, enjoyed the bbq. Hosts were there if you needed them. Can’t recommend Bamburgh Castle and its beach enough, absolutely beautiful.

We had a fantastic week here. Barbara was the perfect host, so personable and friendly. The house was fantastic; had everything we needed and more. The scenery was breathtaking and the furniture was very comfortable. There’s a lot to do in the area in terms of days out and we found a week perhaps wasn’t long enough to do everything. All in all we had a fabulous week away and the dogs enjoyed it as much as we did.
