Airy and simply beautiful, the sitting area offers a selection of sofas beside a welcoming woodburning stove, ideal for morning coffee, and when mealtimes call, a fantastic kitchen area in contemporary colours with loads of amenities will cater to your culinary needs, and you can enjoy a meal together at the dining table, and a glass door and skylights draw in natural light. Continuing the beauty of the living area, you will be delighted to discover two bedrooms with contemporary en-suites, including a double with a beautiful old-fashioned headboard and a king-size with built-in cupboards. Outside, enjoy sunsets over the countryside and distant castle as you indulge in a glass of your favourite beverage in the garden. Embleton is a lovely town with a variety of eateries for you to enjoy, and you can stock up on picnic essentials at the local store before heading over to the idyllic sandy beach or walking through Embleton Quarry Nature Reserve. Within easy reach of the property is the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle and from here you can join the Dunstanburgh Castle Walk or try out a game of golf at the local course. Further from the property you will be able to visit the magnificent Bamburgh Castle and the quaint seaside town around it. Make a coastal getaway to remember with a stay at East Farm Croft.

The pretty village of Embleton is ideally placed for exploring one of the most attractive stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline. A beautiful grassy path runs from the village to neighbouring Craster, alongside the sea and past Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. Embleton itself has a village pub and a local hotel, and there is an excellent range of amenities in nearby Alnwick. The gardens at nearby Howick Hall are open during the summer and are noted for their beauty, whilst Alnwick Castle and Garden are a 'must-see' when visiting the area. For the keen golfer, Dunstanburgh Links Course is about 1 mile away - just one of several excellent courses in the vicinity.

Very clean and tidy when we arrived. All the basics required to start your holiday provided. Few minor points/suggestions: No padlock on gate as mentioned in joining instructions. No coat hooks! Could really do with something like this just inside the cottage for coats, towels and dog leads. We didn’t need it but perhaps someone not used to a log burner might appreciate more directions on how to use. Also there needs to be a proper fire glove provided, not the extremely holey two fingered one left. Crockery was a right mismatch. Not enough to fill the dishwasher (which had no cutlery box) so had to be put on more regular than should. Corkscrew is broken and needs replacing. A suggestion book in the accomodation might let managing company resolve issues more quickly? Overall a fabulous stay, now I just have to buy an Aga for home as my wife fell in love with the one in the property.

Although we had every sort of weather over the 4 days we were there, the cottage was always warm thanks to the aga in the kitchen and didn't need tge log burner. In fact the upstairs bedroom was a little too warm, the radiators could be turned down a notch. A couple of hooks in the bathrooms would be handy. It may be time to renew a couple of pans as well. There were a few cobwebs and it would probably benefit from a deep clean at the beginning of the season. Having said that we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Embleton and would recommend the Greys Inn, good food and very hospitable hosts. We would love to return.

Would book again. Guidance on use of appliances would have been useful. No response to my enquiries as to the availability of fuel for the woodburner. However the Aga proved sufficient to keep the living area very warm so none was needed.
