Park up on the roadside in the centre of the town, before travelling by foot to Stone's Throw and its stone-fronted exterior. Enter the homely living/dining room, complete with plush seating, a TV, and dining for four guests, before locating the contemporary kitchen, well-equipped with all expected appliances. Amble, a bustling small harbour at the River Coquet's mouth, is a great starting point for exploring Northumberland. In addition to sandy beaches, a marina, a harbour, and coastal hikes to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and the national park at Druridge Bay, Amble, once a centre for boatbuilding, offers all of these amenities. A variety of fish, prawns, crabs, and lobsters are landed by the large fishing boats that are moored around the harbour wall. On the side of the harbour is a fish centre that sells local fish and is available to the public. It is currently mostly a shellfish hatchery to restock levels of lobster and other shellfish. Coquet Island, an rspb reserve with a sizable population of terns, puffins, and eider ducks, is located one mile south of Amble.

We had lovely sunny days and enjoyed the coastal walks a unexpected bonus was the lights switch on. There was a Steel band just at the end of our street and the parade past by only 20 metres from our cottage. A wonderful weekend which we have many happy memories to cherish

It was warm and cosy The bed was very comfy and the shower iwas great. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. Parking wasnt an issue as we didnt use the car a great deal and you canload/unload at the door. The only thing we missed was an outside space especially as the weather was so good. The yard isnt described as shared in the listing and we were worried about the dog being let out or weeing in the yard., so it meant we couldnt leave the kitchen door open.. Having a washing machine and dishwasher was a bonus though as i dont think they were in the description. Lots of great walks and things to do in the area and very close to the shops and places to eat/drink. A lovely house. We had a great week. Thank you.

Perfect location - immaculately clean and super comfy. Had everything we needed and more. Not a problem with the parking and although we were disappointed that the yard was shared with another property, it didn't detract from our stay. We just didn't use it at all as it wasn't private. Hosts were super friendly with great communication and even left us a card for our anniversary! Already recommended it to friends and we'll definitely be back - thanks Paul & Sandra.
