Lovely house in a beautiful, quiet, relaxing setting. Warm and welcoming and the best equipped kitchen in a self catering house I have ever stayed in. Plenty of pots and pans for cooking your own meals. Access to the Isaac's Tea Trail and loads of other walks direct from the house or from Allenheads and Allendale. The owners have provided a lot of useful local information, maps and books with suggested walks. Would definitely stay there again, as there is still more we would like to visit in the area.

We had a very nice week staying in this lovely well equipped house in very peaceful surroundings. Ideally located for exploring Northumberland, County Durham and Cumbria. Great walks locally, we also went to vindolanda, holy island and beamish living museum. Many nice meals out as well. The owners Marion and Geoff gave us a great welcome and are very friendly and helpful without being intrusive.

This was a fantastic cottage, the kids truly got to live their famous five summer, as all they wanted to do was play in the river and the find treasures. Bring wetsuits and water shoes. Kitchen, utility, logs for the fire, kids toys, kids crockery, even bath toys its a very well equipped home from home. Just be confident of your driving ability, steep hills, tight bends and a tricky drive to turn around in.
