Old Hall Cottage in Hexham is highly praised for its peaceful and remote location, comfort, and the thoughtful touches provided by the owners. Guests consistently mention the well-equipped kitchen, the secure garden for pets, and the delightful birdwatching opportunities. The welcome packs, including treats for both guests and dogs, are frequently appreciated, contributing to a homely and relaxing stay.
Reviewers consistently describe the cottage as spotless and clean, with fresh bedding and towels, indicating a high standard of cleanliness maintained by the owners.
The cottage's location is celebrated for its tranquillity and proximity to Kielder Forest and Lake, ideal for nature enthusiasts and those seeking solitude. However, its remoteness requires a car, as noted by a guest.
Guests find the cottage comfortable and cosy, with a warm welcome including a lit fire. The beds are particularly commended for their comfort, contributing to a restful experience.
The property is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and guests are satisfied with the facilities. However, there is a mention of a hob not working properly, which suggests a slight deduction for maintenance.
The owners' thoughtfulness is evident in the welcome packs and provisions for dogs. While these are highly appreciated, it is politely noted that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Our dogs loved it with the enclosed garden and the treats. Lots of birds visit and wildlife, hedgehog ,frog and bats to name a few. The cottage is central to northumberland for visiting Hadrians wall , Cragside and the coast. We loved our holiday here from Diana and Colin.
