Guests say

Guests appreciate the cottage's lovely location, comfortable furnishings, and spaciousness, ideal for families and their pets. The modern features and personal touches enhance the warm, welcoming atmosphere. However, parking is a notable concern, with difficulties in accessing and using the provided space.

The property is generally well-maintained with a good standard of cleanliness, though there were isolated incidents of wet floors after cleaning and a suggestion to check bathroom extractor fans for dust.

The cottage is in a lovely spot in Seahouses, with guests finding the location superb for a holiday stay.

Guests find the beds very comfortable and the living areas cosy and welcoming, contributing to a pleasant stay.

The property is well-equipped, but there are mentions of a fridge not cooling properly and issues with the TV aerial and a door. The parking situation also affects this score.

Guests were pleased with the welcome pack and doggy treats, adding a personal touch to their stay. However, as gifts are not guaranteed, this should be considered when booking.

About this property

After a full day of exploration, cross the threshold into your new home-from-home and locate the open-plan living space where you can unwind in front of the soothing crackle of the woodburning stove and Smart TV. When the evening draws to a close, head upstairs to wash off the day’s adventures in the bathroom before choosing from three bedrooms; there is a king with en-suite shower, a king and a twin. During the day, take a short walk into the village to stock up on all of your self-catering essentials at local stores or enjoy a break from the kitchen with delicious food at the Black Swan Inn or Insieme Italian Restaurant, Seahouses. Venture down to the harbour to enjoy leisurely strolls around the water or experience the beauty of the coast from a unique perspective by taking to the open water on fishing boats or a trip over to the Farne Islands with the chance of spotting seals and puffins. Follow the coast to the sandy shores of the Annstead Dunes Nature Reserve or the breath-taking Bamburgh Beach which is backed by its spectacular castle; be sure to tour the castle before stopping at Bamburgh Lighthouse and the RNLI Museum. Time your trip right by checking the tides to cross the causeway over to Holy Island to experience Lindisfarne Castle and Priory and to admire views across the sea. All this and more awaits at 30 Union Street.

Seahouses is well worth a visit but parking all over the town is tight, however there is plenty of parking spaces you can pay for. Worth going.

Obviously the only problem is the parking I could get my small van into the space but was worried about getting blocked in so I just moved it into the main car park in the village which wasn't a problem just a bit extra cash than I expected to say but the parking problem isn't just for this cottage it's Obviously in the whole village. We will definitely be back thank you

However, the holiday was marred by parking issues. The house is listed as having parking described as tight - its almost impossible to get into the narrow space between the houses, and we were mostly blocked in and could not get out. On our last day, a neighbour described the animosity towards the owners of No 30, as the parking space was actually a cut through from the next road, seemingly annexed by them for visitors. In the Visitors Book, a guest described their car as being "Keyed" during their stay and so we were worried the same could happen to ours. Neighbours also used the bins, and simply walked off when challenged. It all made for a very tense atmosphere, and although we loved Seahouses, we would not go back to that cottage. We were informed by the neighbours that an annual parking ticket could be had, relatively cheaply, for the public car park and most people provided them for their visitors. Perhaps this would alleviate the situation.
