Just a 2-mile walk from the property down the River Aln is the village of Alnmouth on the revered Northumberland Heritage Coast.  The village is made up of pretty, painted houses, tea rooms, pubs, gift shops, an art gallery and a beautiful sandy beach. 

4 miles inland is another must-visit on your holiday - Alnwick Castle and Gardens.  This grand old castle enclosed by magnificent formal gardens was used in a number of celebrated films and TV series, including Downton Abbey, Harry Potter and Braveheart.  The pretty village of Warkworth is only a few miles away, with its scenic riverside walks, castle ruins and charming little tea rooms.  A little fur. . .
