Guests say

Moonlight Lodge offers a peaceful and relaxing stay with a well-maintained hot tub and comfortable beds, making it ideal for unwinding. Guests appreciate the quiet site, lovely surroundings, and thoughtful touches such as cosy blankets and dog-friendly features. While some found the property clean and welcoming, others noted areas needing attention, particularly with maintenance and kitchen equipment. The location is praised for its tranquillity and access to local walks and amenities. Overall, the property provides a pleasant base for exploring the area, especially for those seeking a restful break.

Reviews are mixed regarding cleanliness. Several guests found the property clean and comfortable, while others reported issues such as dirty crockery, stained bedding, mould in the bathroom, and a lingering pet smell. Some guests had to clean upon arrival, indicating inconsistency in cleaning standards.

The location is frequently described as quiet, peaceful, and ideal for relaxation, with easy access to walks and local amenities. Some guests noted the site is a bit remote, requiring a car for convenience, but overall the setting is well received.

Guests generally found the beds comfortable and the lodge warm and cosy. The hot tub is a highlight for relaxation. However, some mentioned dated furnishings, worn towels, and minor discomforts such as loose toilet seats and tired carpets.

Facilities are a common concern, with several reports of maintenance issues including leaking toilets, broken decking, faulty kitchen appliances, and missing or worn kitchenware. The hot tub is consistently praised, but other amenities would benefit from attention and upgrades.

Some guests appreciated thoughtful touches like blankets, outdoor cushions, and a welcome bottle of wine (though not guaranteed). Communication with the owner was praised by a few, but others noted a lack of response or instructions. Gifts and extras are not guaranteed for all stays.

Place was dirty- had to clean the fridge, bin lid, crockery on arrival Poor kitchen supplies, only 1 small plate- no sharp knives for cutting veg/meat..no oven trays.Main shower and bath had poor water flow- couldn’t use it. Main gas cooker burner didn’t work.TV didn’t work properly, it wouldn’t switch on after two days - couldn’t load Apps to use instead of free view TV which flickered in and out of signal as had no WiFi working - tried resetting several times and an extra dongle with separate WiFi booster - adjacent properties ok . Light bulb in lampshade in main living area flickering- wrong size bulb- no spares .Contacted owner directly- he was abroad- tried suggestions and apologised but after spending 4 nights there it became tiresome- thankfully we had lovely weather so we were out and about-Veranda gate was difficult to open as catch was loose . Property needs a lot of attention sadly.would not recommend at this point in time

Me and my partner stopped this weekend for 2 nights and couldn't fault it for price we paid. You cant expect brand new immaculate lodge for this price (previous reviews didnt take this into account). Accommodation was warm and clean. Didn't take long to heat up. Site was quiet, didnt use any on site facilities. It had everything we needed for our stay. WiFi worked well, just had to connect TV to it, but was simple to do. Grill/oven and hob all easy to use. Shower was good, and hot. Temperature easy to adjust. Bed was comfy and towels were soft. Didn't use bath so can't comment on that. Hot tub was great, had plenty of use from us. Was checked every morning by someone on site. Only complaint was the bottle of wine left was alcohol free, lol.
