The Loft is a first floor holiday apartment tucked away in a courtyard setting in the very centre of this popular, picturesque, historic village and is only 100 yards from the river, where you can sit and watch the world go by. This delightful village is dominated by its fine 12-century castle and riverside walks, with a wonderful medieval bridge nearby, waiting to be discovered. Only 1 mile from a sandy bay which stretches from Amble to Alnmouth in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Set on the coastal route providing over 20 miles of golden sands. Alnwick Castle and gardens 6 miles. Boats trips to Coquet Island to view the seabirds from Amble only 2 miles. Ideal location for exploring all the North East counties. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

2nd year in the Loft. Such a fabulous place to stay. Close to everything and so handy to have parking nearby. Same again next year!

What a treasure of a place. The accommodation had everything you could need, was spotlessly clean, lovely and warm and perfectly situated. Though there was no photograph of it, there was a dining area with a table and four chairs. We were grateful for the essentials provided - tea, coffee, sugar, milk, biscuits, dishwashing tablets etc, etc and the quality of information provided (plus the games and books) was excellent. We were particularly pleased that the grab rail for the shower suggested by an earlier reviewer had been provided. The only thing we couldn’t work out was how to use the fan over the hob in the kitchen and also what the large unit on the wall in the bathroom was for. It might be useful to supply these details. We both slept incredibly well and had a great holiday in and around the village. I’m off now to book it for next year! Thank you so much.
