Had a lovely short break at Wayside. The accommodation was spacious enough and clean on arrival. We found it a great base for exploring the area.No need for cooking, we mostly went out for food, plenty of choice for pub food and amazing seafood on your doorstep. Can recommend visiting Alnwick castle/gardens/poison garden, Warkworth Castle and Low Hauxley beach (at low tide). The cottage bunk bed was maybe not ideal for a tall older teenager and the mattress in the master bedroom had seen better days, it also was rather warm and difficult to air out because of small windows, having a fan really helped. It's on a main road, so it gets quite noisy at times, but none of this really bothered us too much although it probably would have on a longer stay. Felt our break was good value for money and considering it was dog friendly, we would definitely consider going back to the area.

One of the cleanest places we’ve stopped . A 10 minute walk to the harbour.

The cottage is in the perfect place not only to take advantage of Amble, but to explore the whole of the coast from Newbiggin all the way up to Holy Island. Clean and spacious, we loved how convenient it was for walking to the harbour, pubs ,restaurants etc. Highly recommend this place, a home from home
