Southfield Lodge in Seahouses is highly praised for its prime location, cleanliness, and comfort. Guests appreciate the secure garden for dogs, the proximity to local amenities, and the thoughtful touches like welcome packs. It serves as an excellent base for exploring Northumberland, with particular commendation for its well-equipped kitchen and responsive owner.
The majority of guests report the property as very clean, with fresh bed linen and towels. A few noted areas for improvement, such as dust in hidden areas and a dirty window, but these seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.
The location is consistently praised for being within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the harbour. Its proximity to local attractions and ease of access make it an ideal spot for visitors.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the property spacious. There are some remarks about uncomfortable sofas and difficulty with the tub/shower for older guests, but overall the property is seen as comfortable.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the secure garden and parking. Criticisms include an unsuitable EV charging point and minor maintenance issues like a lifting kitchen floor and a small microwave. However, the presence of an air fryer and other amenities are positive points.
Guests often mention welcome packs, which are seen as a thoughtful gesture, adding to the enjoyment of their stay. While these gifts are appreciated, it's important to note that such extras are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every visit.

Just needs a little tlc as kitchen floor is lifting slightly. Good garden for our dogs too. Didnt find the book store until last day but didn't need it. Would book this bungalow again. Seahouses had some good eating places.

Cottage was very clean, great facilities and welcome pack was a lovely touch. Lovely outdoor space to sit, dry wetsuits and have the dog out. Only small negative was the extremely small microwave for family of six. But loved the air fryer!!

We liked that it was situated on a quiet street with its own private parking that was easy to get into and out of since there wasn't a lot of traffic. It was very comfortable and convenient with one or two exceptions. As older visitors, we found the couch to be very difficult to get up from and the tub/shower combo difficult to climb into, but that probably wouldn't bother most people, and there was a large walk-in shower available. It is a large property and though we only used two of the three bedrooms, larger groups would have plenty of room to spread out. We spend several minutes trying to locate the cutlery which is secreted in a drawer inside the cooking utensils drawer beneath the cooktop, a configuration we hadn't encountered before, but once we'd overcome that difficulty, we had everything we could need for meals at home. We appreciated that we were within easy walking distance of Main Street, approximately 10 minutes or less from the harbor area and with several good restaurants, takeaways, and chippies within easy reach. The co-op has the usual necessities and there is a butcher close by, though you would need to go further afield to find a good selection of groceries. Nearby Bamburg has a good butchers with prepared meals on offer. We liked being within easy reach of day trips to St Abb's Head, Alnwick, Warkworth, Cragside, Hadrian's Wall, Belsay Hall, etc. We wouldn't hesitate to rent this property again and highly recommend it to others.
