The apartment is just on the promenade, so you have many amenities and attractions nearby. Redcar regularly hosts horse racing, and special events often take place at Kirkleatham Museum in the summer months. In Redcar there are arcades, a great selection of shops and cafés as well as the beach to enjoy. The next resort along the coast is Saltburn-by-the-Sea which itself boasts a picturesque promenade and pier. Saltburn attracts surfers and fishermen as well as those wanting to spend time building sandcastles. There are also plenty of places to eat and drink on top of the cliff.
Located on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, it’s ideally situated for those who want to sample some of the prettiest countryside in the county, with its hundreds of pubs and restaurants serving home cooked food. Take a ride on the steam train that from Whitby to the heart of the North York Moors, ‘Heartbeat’ country and Pickering. Alternatively, explore the bays and coves along the heritage coast such as Robin Hood’s Bay, Runswick Bay or Staithes. Each has its own historical story of pirates and smuggling.
Whitby is just 20 miles away, home of Whitby Abbey which that was made famous by Bram Stoker’s ’Dracula’, cobbled back streets, quirky shops and Whitby harbour. There are many festivals and events held here each year from a regatta to a Goth festival or take a sea fishing trip on one of the many tourist boats. Redcar is served by a great road network, you can visit attractions such as Lightwater Valley, Flamingo Land or Beamish Museum in a day.
Back in 2007, Regency Mansion and the sea front was a film location to the award winning (including Oscar Award) film ‘Attornment’. The Dunkirk scene, ‘hotel L’hirondale’ in the film Attornment is ‘the Regency Mansions’ today. The property building previously known as Coatham Hotel, Redcar.
