Guests say

The Fox House offers a clean, comfortable base for exploring the North Yorkshire coast and moors, with many guests praising its well-equipped interior, peaceful atmosphere, and dog-friendly features. The property is situated on a quiet housing estate, providing easy access to local attractions and beaches by car. Guests appreciated the secure garden and proximity to a welcoming local pub. While some noted minor issues with garden security, cleaning details, and the estate's appearance, the overall experience was positive, with many highlighting the property's cleanliness, comfort, and helpful hosts.

Most guests found the property very clean, with fresh bedding and towels, and some describing it as the cleanest rental they've stayed in. However, a few mentioned areas needing a deeper clean, such as cobwebs, dust, and hairs in the bath, which slightly lowered the score.

The location is praised for its convenience to coastal attractions and local pubs, but some guests were surprised by its setting on a housing estate and the need to drive to reach the beach or shops. The estate itself was described as quiet, though its appearance was mixed.

Guests consistently described the house as comfortable, with particular praise for the beds, pillows, and lounge. The property is warm and well-suited for relaxing after days out, though a few mentioned issues with radiator controls and garden security for dogs.

The house is well-equipped with kitchen utensils, Sky TV, WiFi, and a secure garden for dogs. Some guests noted minor maintenance issues, such as unclear instructions for appliances, a hot shower, and gaps in the garden fence, but overall facilities met expectations.

Some guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as fresh milk and tea bags on arrival, and prompt responses from the owner. Please note that such gifts or gestures are not guaranteed for every stay.

The house is in a good location for beaches Scarborough, the surrounding area and the pub. A 10-minute walkway was lovely and dog friendly.A bit disappointed that while being advertised as dog friendly there was a no dogs allowed sign from the stairs upwards - this is not a sign of a dog friendly place and should have been clearly stated in the description of the house as we would not have booked this if we had known.Grass was also uncut making it difficult to enjoy the garden both for us and our dog.The kitchen was lovely and the lounge comfortable; owners were also prompt when sorting out a hot water issue.

The location was not what we expected however, we had no issues with the neighbours. The house was spotless and well equipped, the garden was secure enough for our three little dogs. The house was fairly central if you wanted to explore the area. Thirsk for the World of James Heriot. Goathland Heartbeat, Redcar beaches, Whitby fish and chips and Abbey, Scarborough and Bempton Cliffs nr Bridlington to see the puffins and other sea birds. I would recommend the house to anyone who wishes to explore North Yorkshire. The owner was lovely and could not be more helpful. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your house.

The housing estate was a very mixed standard of houses and gardens.
