Guests say

Cobblestones is a charming, characterful cottage in the heart of Whitby, praised for its unbeatable location and quirky, historic features. Guests appreciate its spaciousness, well-equipped kitchen, and suitability for families and dogs. While some mention noise from the street and early morning deliveries, most find the vibrant setting a highlight. There are comments about the need for some maintenance and deeper cleaning, but many guests still enjoyed their stay and would return, noting thoughtful touches on arrival.

Several guests found the cottage clean and tidy, but others noted issues such as dirty floors, stained carpets, cobwebs, and a musty smell. While some felt the property was well-presented, others suggested a deeper clean and refresh would improve the experience.

The location is consistently praised as exceptional, right in the centre of Whitby, close to shops, pubs, and attractions. Some mention street noise and early morning deliveries, but most guests felt the vibrant setting outweighed these minor inconveniences.

Guests enjoyed the comfortable beds and spacious layout, but some found the many stairs challenging and noted noise due to thin walls and creaky floors. A few mentioned the need for updated furniture and more comfortable seating for larger groups.

The cottage is generally well-equipped, with a good kitchen and powerful showers. However, guests highlighted maintenance issues such as broken drawers, loose table legs, missing hairdryer, and non-functional appliances. Some areas would benefit from refurbishment.

Several guests appreciated welcome gifts such as wine, tea, coffee, and milk, which added a thoughtful touch to their stay. Please note, these gifts are not guaranteed for every booking.

The cottage needs some work all table legs are loose. The cooker fan hood does not work it doesn't seem to have a vent, so any cooking the smell goes everywhere. Upstairs the first twin bedroom the curtain pole needs attention curtains not attached to hooks in places. We enjoyed being in the heart of old Whitby every thing you needed on your doorstep

A lovely old building, in the heart of Whitby. Location was excellent, right in the heart of the town, close to shops, pubs, the harbour and the beach! A lovely old house, with lots of character. A good space, ideal for 3 couples. The kitchen was a good size and generally well equipped. Nice to be able to eat together in it. A bit tricky to find. (Directions could do with being updated.) Very poor soundproofing throughout the property. Oh, and could have done with a wooden spoon in the kitchen. (A minor thing but a bit annoying not to have one.)

Curtains hanging off the rails, you could see the light through floor boards in below floors and the fire in the kitchen didnt work rendering it too cold to sit it. The noise from the streets started as early as 5 from bins and deliveries every morning. Cobwebs everywhere. Front and back door locks falling apart. Really run down, damp on walls and paint stripping off. Needs a good do over.
