Also nearby is the charming village of Whalley, which plays host to a number of impressive feats of architecture including the Whalley Viaduct and the 14th century abbey ruins, which is home to the beautiful Whalley Abbey Gatehouse. Outdoor enthusiasts can look forward to exploring the picturesque area of the Forest of Bowland aonb, boasting a variety of countryside sites and trails for some scenic walking and cycling opportunities. You could also don your hiking boots to explore Pendle Hill, where on a clear day you can enjoy the far-reaching views of Blackpool Tower and the Lakeland fells, as well as the Pendle Sculpture Trail to keep children entertained whilst on the walk.
