Guests say

Bay View Cottage is a well-maintained property with spacious bedrooms, a delightful upstairs living space offering spectacular views, and a large rear garden. It is praised for its cleanliness and well-stocked kitchen. The location is ideal for exploring the southern lakes, though the driveway access and road safety are noted concerns. Overall, guests are considering return visits, indicating a positive experience.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage is consistently described as clean, particularly the bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen. One mention of a 'fousty' smell and a grubby area under the sink slightly affects the score.

The location is appreciated for its proximity to the southern lakes and the views it offers. However, concerns about the safety of the walk to the pub and the difficulty of driveway access impact the score.

Guests find the bedrooms to be of a good size and the living room comfortable, with great views. The exposed patio and stiff door locks are minor discomforts mentioned.

While the property is described as well-equipped and fully stocked, specific references to facilities maintenance issues like the oven's performance and the tidiness of the driveway suggest room for improvement. However, there is not enough consistent detail to provide a definitive score.

There are no mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate the level of thoughtfulness. Therefore, a score cannot be provided.

Make your next stay in Cumbria one to remember by booking a stay at Bay View Cottage.

A superb base to explore this interesting and beautiful area, the historic village of Flookburgh is set near the shores of Morecambe Bay on the outskirts of the magnificent Lake District. It is thought that the locally-caught Fluke fish take their name after the village, and once, Flookburgh was a popular resting point for travellers crossing the sands from Lancaster and still provides a home for cockle and shrimp fishers. Facilities in the village include a pub, a grocery, a chemist, a Post Office and two food outlets. The Cumbrian Coastal Way footpath passes nearby and a short walk away from the village is delightful countryside, such as Humphrey Head, views of the bay, with its wading bird life, and Coniston's mountain range. A few minutes’ drive or a pleasant off road walk leads to historic Cartmel, with its beautiful Priory, popular race course, antique and gift shops, pubs and restaurants; including the Michelin Star-rated L’Enclume. Just over a mile away you will find the beautiful house and gardens of Holker Hall and also nearby you can try horse riding just six miles to the north at Bigland, or visit the Edwardian resort of Grange, which offers a range of hotels, restaurants, shops, a traffic-free promenade, ornamental gardens and golf courses.

The second thing was how infested the kitchen/dining area was with ants. The bed sheets also shared the same smell and the mattresses were so hard to sleep on.

The upstairs living space was a delight, with spectacular view across Morecombe bay. The bedrooms bathrooms and kitchen were clean and well stocked. There was a very large garden at the rear that we also enjoyed. The owner had left good clear instructions for all aspects of the property. Even the narrow gate was not an issue for our larger than normal SUV. A lovely holiday and would definitely return again. Thank you

Great location to explore Cumbria. Would definitely book again constructive feedback, oven was not brilliant to cook in ( might have been us) and you need to reverse in to the driveway of a main road but it is manageable. The driveway could do with a tidy up from mud. Minor points overall great place and would book again
