Sedbergh - pronounced Sed-Ber – is an ancient market town situated in northern Dentdale within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The town itself boasts narrow streets, little shops, traditional pubs and a famous school, dating back to 1536. There is also an atmospheric 12th Century church. Dentdale is located amongst rolling hills and stretches 14 miles from the windswept moors below Whernside to the rivers Dee and Rawthey. At the heart of the dale is the town of Dent, which has existed since Norman times and is a labyrinth of winding cobbled streets. There are three golf courses in the vicinity as well as tennis, horse riding and fishing. With such incredible scenery and so many fascinating trails, the area is a great place for walkers and cyclists. This, together with the surrounding valleys and two National Parks, makes Sedburgh a fantastic spot for a holiday outdoors.

Blissfully quiet and peaceful. Arrived to a lovely warm and clean house with flowers and chocolates on the kitchen table. Spent the weekend there with my three adult sons who all have super busy lives. We walked, talked and bonded. Dreadful weather but it didnât matter. Around the Haweswater valley we were treated to stunning views of misty topped fells and a magical rainbow at every turn. Memorableâ¦perfect. Highly recommended. Take heed of the warning to avoid the narrow bridge - unless you drive a Sinclair C5

There was a cat visiting at night ! Otherwise we enjoyed our stay. Thanks for the flowers and chocolates ( We are Muslims we donât drink - we left the alcohol bottle in the kitchen cupboard) **Be aware of the narrow bridge , we had our car scratched :( youâd better take the longer pathway anyway)
