Take your first steps into Stang Farm and you’ll be welcomed by a warm and inviting interior, with each room offering its own charm and character. After a day of exploring, the sitting room is the perfect place to cocoon away in the evenings and enjoy some quality family time in front of the woodburning stove, or even head through to the snug and enjoy a quiet moment away from the group. The kitchen is the perfect place to whip up delicious meals, whilst the dining room with its character features is the ideal spot for gathering round the table and sharing stories over a bottle of wine. Venture up to the first floor and you’ll find four well-appointed bedrooms, including a king-size with en-suite shower, a king-size, a double and a twin, each retaining a character feel and equipped with ample storage for your personal belongings. These bedrooms are served by a bathroom with bath, shower over, basin, heated towel rail and WC. Outside, enjoy the beauty of the countryside with a stroll around the garden and surrounding fields; your four-legged friends will appreciate the space! There is a river running through the land which is full of brown trout, guests are welcome to test their skills and try a spot of fishing. Take a leisurely stroll towards the village of Helme which backs the property and stop for some refreshments at the Punchbowl Pub and Station Inn. When you’re ready to explore, a few miles north rests the vibrant market town of Kendal, filled with a selection of independent shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs as well as the Castle Museum home to a wealth of history and charming walks. If you’re looking to make the most of the Lake District, Windermere can't be missed. Here, you’ll find a variety of attractions, including the beautiful Lake Windermere, the largest lake in England, where you can enjoy a peaceful boat ride, visit the World of Beatrix Potter, try a spot of kayaking and paddle boarding, or explore the beautiful Wray Castle. From the sublime to the spectacular, a stay at Stang Farm provides guests with the perfect base to explore the wonders of Cumbria.

A historic market town with a fine reputation for shopping, Kendal nestles on the banks of the River Kent and is known as the Southern Gateway to the Lakes. Its old cobbled lanes and byways branch off the attractive main street, and the stone ruins of 12th century Kendal Castle sit perched on a hill with views over the town. Visit The Abbot Hall Art Gallery, its regular collection holding portraits by Kendal born George Romney and works by Turner and Ruskin, with other exhibitions through its links with the Tate. Both Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall with its superb Topiary Garden are nearby, as are limestone escarpments for easy walking, offering thrilling views of the Lakeland Mountains, the Howgills and Morecambe Bay. Kendal itself is ideally placed for exploring South Lakeland, the Yorkshire Dales and beyond. With other attractions such as Kendal Museum and the Museum of Lakeland Life, the fascinating Quaker Tapestry, Lake Windermere and the wider National Park within easy reach, Kendal provides a superb base for a relaxing break.
