Those with restricted mobility will find the ground floor en-suite wet room and huge benefit. The properties are set on the owner’s working farm with beef, sheep and arable, with a woodland area and an abundance of wildlife including swans, ducks, geese, woodpeckers, deer and much more. Ideal for guests wanting to really explore the local area and beyond, with plenty of attractions within a close radius. Experience the Lake District at its best with every kind of outdoor activity on hand. The properties are a haven away from the stresses and strains of everyday living and are ideal for anyone looking to spend some time amidst the peace and quiet of beautiful scenery. We had an amazing holiday at The Wheat Shed. The accommodation was beautifully presented, clean and tidy and had so many thoughtful extras (like soap in the toilets and kitchen, dishwasher tablets etc, salt and pepper) it really was a home from home. The kitchen was well stocked and had all the equipment you need; the girls even managed to make a cake whilst we were there. Alison was very helpful prior to the trip and when we arrived. The cottage was plenty big enough for all of us, with space to find a nook to yourself if needed. Our youngest loved the ‘library’, crazy golf, swing and zip line; all helping to keep her entertained. The location was good with sites on average being between 20-60 mins from the cottage. I would have no reservations in recommending this cottage and we are already planning to visit again.

We loved our time at the wheat shed! We gave it a 4 (would’ve been a 4.5 but they don’t do half ratings) because golf course needs a lick of paint, not all the jets in the hot tub were working but that’s just being picky. It was a great base for our week away with 3 kids. We’d return if we were in the area again.

Such a perfect stay, the home was absolutely lovely! And we couldn’t have asked for better hosts. The kids enjoyed seeing all the animals and the crazy golf, would definitely recommend this home to others, and we will return our selves.
