Eden House is a spacious and well-equipped cottage, ideal for large groups and families seeking a memorable stay in the Lake District. Guests consistently praise the beautiful grounds, comfortable beds, and excellent kitchen facilities. The hot tub, sauna, and on-site farm animals are standout features, adding to the property's charm. While a few minor maintenance and heating issues were noted, these did not detract from the overall enjoyment. The peaceful location, ample space, and thoughtful touches make Eden House a highly recommended choice for gatherings and celebrations.
The majority of guests found the property to be extremely clean and well-presented, with fresh linens and towels. A few isolated incidents of missed cleaning (e.g., broken glass, damp smell) were mentioned, but these were rare exceptions.
The location is frequently described as lovely, peaceful, and ideal for exploring the Lake District, with beautiful grounds and easy access to local walks. Some guests noted the property is not within walking distance of shops, but this was not seen as a major drawback.
Guests consistently praised the comfortable beds, spacious rooms, and ample communal areas. Occasional comments about heating issues and a few less comfortable beds were noted, but overall comfort levels were high.
The property is very well equipped, especially the kitchen, and features such as the hot tub, sauna, games room, and large dining area are highly valued. Minor issues with maintenance (e.g., heating, dishwasher, sauna instructions) were mentioned but did not significantly impact enjoyment.
Guests appreciated labelled cupboards, keycode entry, and responsive staff. Some suggested the addition of basics like tea, coffee, and cleaning products would be helpful. No mention of gifts was found, so this cannot be commented on.
A spacious detached cottage in the landscaped grounds of Eden Lodge, a country house on the outskirts of Bardsea, one mile from the traditional Lakeland market town of Ulverston and a short walk from Ulverston Golf Course. Set in beautiful, mature parkland overlooking Morecambe Bay, this Bardsea cottage provides an ideal base for families and groups of friends to get together and enjoy the beautiful Furness Peninsula and its attractions. There is a spacious sitting room in this Bardsea cottage, with an adjoining conservatory/summer room and doors to a private garden. There is also a spacious master bedroom with en-suite shower room; a further five well laid-out bedrooms and an unusual first floor farmhouse-style kitchen with large table and a small wooden balcony area.
Offering country living at its best, this Bardsea cottage provides that little bit of extra luxury with its own private, roofed outdoor six-seater hot tub and a large wood-fired hexagonal sauna. The beach is a leisurely ten minute walk away from this Bardsea cottage, and the Manjushri Buddhist Temple and its beautiful wooded grounds are close by, whilst Ulverston Golf Club is also just a few minutes' walk away. The festival town of Ulverston is just one mile away from this cottage in Bardsea, with its many pubs, restaurants and bi-weekly market, while the sandy beaches of the Furness coast, and Coniston, with its mountain biking, climbing and watersports are just a short drive away.
An excellent holiday base with a touch of luxury. Note: This property is in the grounds of Ref. 918339, together they sleep 39.
Positioned on a hill overlooking Morecambe Bay is the small village of Bardsea. This remote settlement grew from a small fishing village and farming area to become a major transportation link for coal, iron ore and corn. Today, Bardsea still retains its fishing heritage, and features two pubs, both of which serve fine ales and good food. The village itself is located close to Furness Abbey, whilst the market town of Ulverston is just two miles away, and maintains its street market tradition, hosting one every Thursday and Saturday throughout the year. Ulverston is also the location for many festivals including an amazing lantern procession in November and a Dickensian weekend in early December. With all the attractions of the Lake District National Park within easy driving distance, and the sandy beaches of the Furness coast close by, this peaceful spot has plenty to offer.

Our grandchildren loved visiting the animals at the farm and the hot tub and sauna were very welcome little luxuries. The kitchen was well equipped and bedrooms were clean and comfortable. In our party a couple more double beds would have been useful but it didnât impact our weekend. Overall we had a very pleasant stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eden House and had loads of room to spread out. Bedrooms were light and airy and outdoor space was amazing. We really enjoyed the kitchen as it had everything we needed and we ended up spending most of our time just sat around the large kitchen table chatting. Hot tub and sauna really made us feel like we were in a health club retreat. Loved the animals and it was lovely to see them just wondering around the grounds. House is near most amenities and a good distance for travelling to the many attractions Cumbria has to offer. We would definitely recommend the house to friends and family and we hope to visit again soon xx
John
The communal gardens are beautiful and include farm animals, which was lovely for the children.
