Got off to a disappointing start.key safe not where stated in info pack supplied.finally located after several phone calls.Then 3rd bedroom door stuck and would not open.several phone calls and text messages between 4pm and 9pm when repair man arrived.he said he'd only been told about repair aroubd 8.15 so all previoys assurances were untrue.only when i said i would be cancelling booking and returning home did something happen.2 accessible bedrooms out of three not acceptable for our party as we required 3 bedrooms as booked.once fixed we had no complaints as it is a lovely property.

Gowan View is well situated for visiting The Lakes, Yorkshire Dales and Trough of Bowland. There are no immediate amenities but Carnforth is nearby. While it is situated directly on the road to Arkholme, the approach is hidden by a line of trees - easy to pass by (as we did!). A sign by the gate would be useful.One mystery is that one of the double bedrooms could not be accessed - the door could not be opened but there was no sign of a lock. From the outside window, the room was all prepared for visitors - even the light was switched on! Good job we were not a party of six.

This property has so much potential but, as highlighted in a previous review, the unpleasant drain odour in one of the bathrooms is still present which infiltrated one of the double bedrooms, even with the bathroom door closed. The photos of the property also show items of furniture which are no longer in the property, most noticeably the egg chair in the living room and seating at the end of one of the double beds. Saying that, we had a good week away in the accomodation. The property is light and airy with good parking and it was an ideal base from which to explore.
