Guests appreciate the comfortable atmosphere, thoughtful extras, and excellent access to local walks and attractions. While the lack of outdoor space and proximity to a main road are noted, these do not detract from the overall positive experience. Multiple reviews mention the cottage being clean, tidy, and well-maintained, with all furniture and equipment in good order.

Guests consistently praise the central location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, Forest of Bowland, and Ribble Valley. The main road is noted but generally not seen as a problem.

The cottage is described as homely, comfortable, and cosy, with comfy beds and plenty of space for guests and dogs.

The property is well-equipped with everything needed for a stay, including kitchen facilities, dog towels, and even a pool table. The only drawback mentioned is the lack of outdoor space.

We were looking for a place that gave access to Ribble Valley walks, that had a bit of history and an active local community, and Foxtales in Gisburn ticked all those boxes. Originally a stables built in the early 1600s. Converted a long time ago into a home. Now rented out by the woman who was born and raised there and oversaw a renovation that makes the most of the stone walls and wooden ceiling beams! Twice weekly sheep and cattle auctions down the road were a plus for us! Lovely walks locally. Also close to Pendle Hill, with the folk tales and the true histories of the terrible Pendleton witches trials. Also, heading north, lovely walks through beautiful old Ribble Valley villages and largely defunct mining and mill sites. The lovely pub next door is currently closed, which was a shame, but is clearly hoping to re-open. We thought the price was very fair. Had a brilliant time. (should also mention the pool table...)

Lovely little place but without an outside space (and near a very busy main road) I wouldn’t recommend it for young children. As a couple it met our needs perfectly and the welcome pack was lovely and much appreciated. The pub close by is closed but there is a lovely deli/cafe across the road and a restaurant in a nearby mobile home park which is good
