The market town of Clitheroe, in Lancashire, will leave visitors perfectly situated between Pendle Hill and the Forest of Bowland. This AONB is a wonderful place to explore and Clitheroe is a charming place to enjoy a cottage holiday.

On visiting Clitheroe it's hard to miss the impressive 12th-century castle. It's a remarkable place to visit and also has a museum as well as landscaped gardens.
