Outstanding! Spacious, warm, comfortable. Extremely well equipped. Lovely towels and bed linen. Excellent WI-FI. Short downhill walk to town centre, past Lidl, and on to the equally outstanding Exchange Coffee Co cafe! Note: Christine and l have rented many holiday cottages, and this one is in the top 2.

We had a lovely stay at Melrose. There were 4 adults 2 children and a dog. The house is very spacious and the kitchen is well stocked with utensils, cutlery etc. The welcome pack was such a lovely touch and the host was very welcoming and responsive. The local town is a 10min walk away and has some lovely shops, cafes and pubs with a beautiful walk around the castle. Our children loved the skate park and park. The house is dated but beautifully clean. My only downside would be the heating must of been set to a timer as in the afternoon it turned off and didn't turn back on until 6ish, usually this would be ok, but temperatures were down to 1 and 2 degrees so was alittle cool. The electric fires were a bonus in dining room and kitchen. Would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful family Christmas at Melrose. The house is spacious and perfect for family gathering, with a well equipped kitchen, large dining room and plenty of comfy seating in the lounge. The owner was very welcoming with a lovely welcome goody pack and had even put Christmas decorations up to help us celebrate. Our only recommendation for the owner would be to improve the shower- it was very hot, but not powerful which means you have to huddle against the wall to get wet. We will definitely come back again. Thank you.
