Archie's Cottage receives high praise for its stunning seaside location, beautiful views, and cosy, well-equipped interiors. Guests consistently mention the cleanliness and comfort, with many appreciating the peaceful atmosphere and thoughtful touches. The cottage is ideal for those seeking tranquillity and nature, with wildlife often spotted from the windows. While some note the remote setting and lack of nearby shops or pubs, most find the experience relaxing and memorable. Occasional comments mention minor maintenance issues and the garden's upkeep, but these do not detract from the overwhelmingly positive feedback.
The majority of guests describe the cottage as exceptionally clean, with several reviews highlighting spotless interiors and fresh bedding. Only rare mentions of minor issues, such as the garden's upkeep, slightly lower the score.
The location is widely celebrated for its breathtaking sea views, peaceful setting, and proximity to nature. While the remoteness and steep access road are noted, most guests view these as part of the cottage's charm.
Guests frequently mention comfortable beds, cosy living spaces, and a homely atmosphere. A few reviews note steep stairs and minor furniture issues, but overall comfort is highly rated.
The cottage is generally well-equipped, with many guests praising the kitchen, linen, and entertainment options. Some mention the need for updates to outdoor furniture, the bath, and kitchenware, as well as occasional issues with WiFi and heating.
Many guests appreciate the welcome baskets and small touches such as wine, sweets, and even dog treats. However, as these gifts are not guaranteed, future guests should not expect them as standard.

Disappointing there was no shop or pub in the village at all and we had to travek to Eyemouth or Berwick. Cottage was fine and well kitted out. Garden was overgrown with weeds and a bit meh!
