River View is situated in a quiet, picturesque location by the River Bradford in Youlgrave/Youlgreave, Derbyshire. Up in the centre of this quaint village are 3 pubs 2 bakers and plenty of options for tea and coffee and buying essentials. As you arrive, park up in the roadside allocated bay by the house. There is further parking on the roadside as well.
On the ground floor there is a utility room with storage for boots and coats, and a kitchen/dining room equipped with all the equipment you should need for your stay. The sitting room has a cosy, homely atmosphere, with the roaring log fire burner creating a warm ambience; put your feet up and watch your favourite shows on the TV. The bathroom is located on the ground floor which is a common yet quirky layout amongst cottages in the Peak District. On the first floor are two double bedrooms with comfortable, soft furnishings. One of the bedrooms has a table if you need to work. The Wi-Fi is good throughout the cottage. At the front is a garden with a bench from which you can enjoy watching the river. At the back there is a table and chairs plus a bike rack. A BBQ is available in the summer months.
From River View you can enjoy countless walks straight from the door, including the Limestone Way, which passes in front of the house. You might also walk to Robin Hood’s Stride, to one of the neighbouring villages of Birchover, Winster or Over Haddon, or simply take a flat easy stroll along the river itself. If you are feeling brave, there is a designated swimming spot just along the river. The water is cold! A short drive will take you to the Monsal Trail, High Peak Trail or Tissington Trail. Nearby is Haddon Hall and the stately home of Chatsworth House, which both host tours and events or allow walks around their beautiful gardens. Explore the local towns of Bakewell, Buxton, Matlock or Ashbourne which all boast their own individual personalities, but all have great parks too.

My wife and I needed a break from our busy lives and change of scenery.You have certainly provided that with Riverview cottage.The location was just superb. The only thing that let me down was the shower as flow of hot water in the electric shower was inadequate. I think it needs replacing.Without too much emphasis on the irrelevant the cottage and its location are unsurpassable.Will try and book again but for a longer stay next time.Thanks to all concerned

Such a gem of a cottage! Location is perfect for walkers and for a quiet and relaxing holiday. Great place for remote workers alike. We had a short but lovely stay at River View Cottage. The cottage owner is very responsive as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at River View. It was a really lovely property that was well maintained with everything we needed to enjoy our Christmas there. The village is less than a 10 minute walk where there is a shop and some good pubs. Plenty of fab walks from the door or a short drive away.Sharon responded quickly to any questions we had about the property. The only thing we'd suggest is more wood being available for the log burner in the winter, though we knew to bring some extra as we'd spoken to Sharon about this beforehand. Thanks for a great stay!
