Skye House in Bakewell is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its comprehensive amenities, cleanliness, and thoughtful touches from the host, Julie. Guests appreciate the property's tasteful decoration, comfortable furnishings, and the convenience of having a well-equipped kitchen. The location is ideal for exploring local shops, pubs, and scenic walks, though the uphill walk to the town centre may be challenging for some. The outdoor seating area adds to the peacefulness of the stay, and the welcome gifts of wine and chocolates are a delightful surprise.
Guests consistently describe the house as clean and well-presented, indicating a high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.
The location is celebrated for its proximity to Bakewell town centre and access to country walks, though the uphill walk may not suit everyone.
Reviews highlight the property's comfort, with well-furnished rooms and a peaceful outdoor seating area. One mention of the top floor bathroom being more suitable for children slightly affects the score.
The house is noted for being well-equipped with a stocked kitchen, games, and an Xbox. The dog bath is a unique facility that guests found useful. The top floor bathroom's suitability for only small children suggests a minor limitation.
The host's thoughtfulness is evident in the provision of a welcome pack, clear instructions, and a welcome card. Gifts such as wine and chocolates are mentioned, which are a lovely touch, though it's politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed.

Fantastic house with everything you need. The host Julie ensured the house was home from home. The little touches I.e enough bin bags to empty the rubbish, laundry and washing tablets to last the week, a welcome pack along with instructions of appliances within the house and with welcome card. The location was a short up hill walk from Bakewell town centre (not ideal if you struggle with walking) where there’s shops, pubs, bakery and butchers. There were so many walks to be explored right on your door step. Would highly recommend both the house and Julie as a host.

The location is great for walking into the village and nice long country walks. The house is very well presented and comfortable and clean. Seating area outside is nice and peaceful. The parking can be a problem but we always found a place. The wine and chocolates were such a nice surprise that the owner left for us. Would really look to staying there again.
