Lighthouse Barn is a wonderfully fitting name for this gorgeous holiday home, purpose built for self-catering for large groups in a prime location just a mile and half from the closest village of Parwich. Huge windows frame panoramic views over a sea of green rolling fields and drystone walling so typical of the Peak District, beautifully complimented by soft natural shades and textures that evoke the tranquillity of a seaside retreat. It's heavenly in every season, whether you are staying for a holiday with family, celebrating a milestone occasion with friends, hosting guests for a hen celebration, or planning a yoga retreat or artists’ workshop. The barn itself sleeps 16 guests in six superb ensuite bedrooms with the option to sleep an additional four guests in two further bedrooms both ensuite in the nearby Coach House (approx. 30 metres away).

Parwich is a charming village in the heart of the Peak District National Park. It’s wonderfully quiet, with pretty houses clustered around the village green and duck pond. The area is in the White Peak and popular with walkers and cyclists who appreciate the proximity of the traffic-free Tissington Trail and High Peak Trail. Limestone Way is another favourite route, as is the Royston Grange Archaeology Trail which takes in Roman and medieval sites of interest. Parwich has a small village shop attached to the very popular and friendly Sycamore Arms pub. There are further supermarkets, boutique shops, cafes, restaurants and antique shops 8 miles away in the market town of Ashbourne. A great alternative is the busy tourist town of Bakewell made famous by its ‘Bakewell Pudding’ and farmers market which is a very scenic 12 mile drive from Lighthouse Barn.

Popular attractions near Lighthouse Barn include, Bolsover Castle, Haddon Hall, the Crich Tramway Museum, Calke Abbey and the famous Chatsworth House. Explore Dovedale and the picturesque stepping stones, Burbage Moore, the Derwent Valley, and Monsal Head. Go underground at Blue John Cavern and Poole’s Cavern or stay at home relaxing and soaking up the peace and privacy of the Lighthouse Barn and its huge south facing lawn and terraces.

Accommodation Comprises:

The Lighthouse Barn is a large, luxury group self-catering property surrounded by 70 acres of green rolling Derbyshire Dales owned by the property owners. No noise or traffic to disturb your peace and privacy.

Downstairs:

  • Natural light, south-facing rural views, and plenty of space are fantastic features of this huge open-plan living/entertainment/dining area. The residential bedrooms are found off a corridor the opposite end to the living social area.
  • Rattan “Orangery Style” curved seating with plenty of cushions, two big TVs, and a sound system with eight speakers make the living area perfect for everything from film nights to celebrations and Corporate presentations or group break-out spaces. The two large oak tables push together to make a board room area or dining table for sharing meals together.
  • Nothing is overlooked in the catering-quality galley kitchen. Appliances include two dishwashers, a wine fridge, two microwaves and a huge fridge/freezer. There is ample crockery, with 24 place settings of most things, cutlery, mugs, glasses and serving dishes.
  • All bedrooms are large and ensuite, with fully tiled bathrooms with luxury showers. Towels are luxurious, fluffy and Egyptian cotton and included.
  • Bedroom 1: Is a triple room with a King and a single bed.
  • Bedroom 2: Also sleeps three people in a King and a single bed. This is a lovely room on the ground floor with French doors opening onto the south facing terrace and lawns.
  • Bedroom 3: Has the flexibility of being “zip & link’ so can either be a large S/King bed or 2 X 3’ Single beds.
  • Upstairs:

  • An elegant oak stair way leads to a ‘Minstrel Gallery’ above the living entertainment area. This is set up as Bedroom 6 and again has the flexibility of being “Zip & Link” so can be either a large S/King bed or 2 X 3’ Single beds. It also has a seating area with two separate bathroom/cloakroom facilities (ladies and gents with a shower) so can be adapted as a Break out area for Corporate use if necessary.
  • Bedrooms 4 and 5 are reached via a second staircase along the residential corridor. These two triple bedrooms are huge and again have the flexibility of a “Zip & Link” facility so can be a S/King + Single Bed or 3 X Single beds depending on your needs. It is possible to add an additional folding bed in these two rooms increasing accommodation in each to four people. Adding a folding bed incurs an optional extra charge for this facility.
  • The Coach House: A nearby single storey barn conversion that sleeps an additional 4 people in two ensuite bedrooms. It’s a short (approx. 30 metre) walk from Lighthouse Barn.

  • Bedroom 7: Double bedroom (In Coach House property).
  • Bedroom 8: Twin Room 2 X Single Beds (In Coach House property).
  • Outside: A huge block pavia terrace surrounds the Lighthouse Barn with ample comfortable outdoor furniture for everyone to soak up the stunning surroundings and watch the sunsets. The Lighthouse Barn is located at the end of a long private tarmac road and has a huge secure car park area at its rear with parking for up to 20 cars easily. There is dawn to dusk security lighting too.

    Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are provided. Our niche in the market place is short two night breaks over weekends, and we can offer flexible departure times on the Sunday. Optional third night and weekly stays are available on request. We have a selection of local approved outside caterers who provide a service regularly to our guests. Smoking and pets are strictly not permitted.
