The Croft at Waterside Cottages can comfortably sleep up to 16 people in seven bedrooms, making it ideal for extended families and groups of friends who want somewhere within easy reach of the Peak District National Park. The lakefront property sits in an enviable position on the banks of Carsington Water, just outside the historic village of Kirk Ireton and within walking distance of the traditional Barley Mow pub which has been serving beer to locals and visitors since 1753. The location is perfect for easy access to beautiful walks, bike rides, watersports and touring some of the area's most popular attractions, making The Croft at Waterside Cottages a favourite choice for every season.

Kirk Ireton is a peaceful village thanks to its location away from the main tourist routes. Despite this, it is convenient for many of the area's best-loved beauty spots, footpaths and attractions. The cottage is at the end of a no-through lane that leads to Carsington Water, allowing guests to sail, windsurf, kayak and fly fish on the lake that they can see from their garden and windows. Stroll around the footpath that circumnavigates the lake, taking in 8 gorgeous miles of spectacular views that never fail to impress, no matter what the season.

Close by, the villages of Ashbourne and Wirksworth offer all the amenities necessary for a relaxed self-catering holiday in the Peak District including supermarkets, cafes and takeaways. There are further opportunities for shopping and eating in the nearby historic towns of Bakewell, Buxton and Matlock.

Attractions within an easy drive include Alton Towers, Gulliver's Kingdom, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, the Crich Tramway Village and the Heights of Abraham. However, the lake-front cottage offers such comfortable accommodation and spectacular views that guests may be delighted to leave the car and spend the week exploring the incredible landscape within walking and cycling distance of The Croft at Waterside Cottages.
