This is an ideal location for walking direct from the door, including the Monsal Trail, Pennine Bridleway and the Limestone Way. Bakewell and the spa town of Buxton are within 5 miles with numerous attractions and shops. Historic houses such as Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, as well as several National Trust properties, are within easy driving distance, as are the Blue John Caves in Castleton. Cycle hire on Monsal Trail, 1 mile. Horse riding and golf can be found locally. Shop on campsite, 300 yards, pub 1 mile.

We had a lovely stay at Barn End Cottage. Ideally located between Buxton and Bakewell with lovely countryside views from the lounge. The hosts were lovely and welcoming with the property and information about the local area and the property was well equipped and very clean. Beautiful walks from the doorstep and surrounding area making this an excellent base to visit the Peaks.

The cottage is in a perfect place to explore the peaks,walks from the door, Bakewell & Buxton close by.The owners were friendly & helpful and the cottage had everything we needed,wished we could have stayed longer.
