This charming cottage is an ideal base for families and friends looking for an unforgettable adventure in the Peak District. Hike or cycle the popular Monsal Trail, accessible at Blackwell Mill (1 mile). This traffic-free trail allows walkers and cyclists to experience some of the Peak District's most magnificent limestone dales. Walkers can easily access the Limestone Way and Chee Dale Stepping Stones, less than 6 miles away. Tunstead is famous as the birthplace of James Brindley, who pioneered building Britain's canals.
This beautiful two-storey property boasts an open-plan lounge, kitchen, and dining area with a stunning vaulted ceiling, exposed oak frame, and floor-to-ceiling windows that take full advantage of the surrounding views. Relax on the comfortable seating in front of the wood burner and watch a film together on the Smart TV. Visit the market town of Bakewell (11 miles) and try one of the famous Bakewell puddings. You can walk from Bakewell to Chatsworth House and explore the extensive picturesque parkland and gardens, offering something for everyone. Lace up your walking boots and head to Hathersage (12 miles) to take the 6.5-mile circular hike via breathtaking Stannage Edge. If you feel adventurous, head less than ten miles to Poole's Cavern near Buxton and explore these natural underground caves before walking around the beautiful Grinlow Wood.
