Initial supply for the wood burning stove provided with further supplies available direct from the owner at a nominal price. Cot and highchair available on request. Open plan garden to the front with splendid views, further area to the rear with table, chairs and barbecue. Parking for 3 cars, further off road parking available if required. Two small well behaved pets welcome (sorry no cats) which must be kept downstairs. Please note: The property has a natural water supply from a borehole. The property is accessed by a rough track.. Sprink Farm cottages are the perfect escape when looking for a rural and quiet retreat. Dovedale (CC412015) is a delightful barn conversion that overlooks some outstanding scenery. The living room and kitchen/dining room have beamed ceilings and exposed walls, making this a stunning property in a fabulous tranquil location. Bodgers End (UK35585) is a rural cottage where you can enjoy the village life. This property boasts two bedrooms, a double with a beautiful four-poster bed and the second is a twin room with a sink and vanity unit. There is also a family bathroom with an overhead shower. Downstairs you will find a comfortable and cosy living room with a wood burner and a kitchen equipped with all the appliances required for a comfortable stay. Ostlers End (UK35586) is a stunning, old cottage bursting with character and original features. You enter the property into the cosy and welcoming living room with a wonderful wood burner for you to enjoy. From here you walk through into the kitchen/dining room where you have everything you to cook up a storm as well as patio doors leading to the communal garden. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms and the family bathroom. The master bedroom has a kingsize four poster bed, there is a double bedroom with sink and vanity unit, and a further twin bedroom with en-suite shower room.
The cottages are a short walk from Hartington village where you will find two friendly pubs and the most wonderful cheese shop you will ever come across where you can stock up on cheese and wine for nights in front of the wood burner. Further out of the village, you can reach many surrounding towns such as Buxton, Ashbourne, Bakewell, and Matlock which are enjoyable to explore in their own ways. If you enjoy fishing to pass your day, angling on the River Dove can be arranged by the owners on request. The Peak District with its rolling hills has walking trails/paths galore! You can walk for miles without needing to drive at all.

Beautiful location. Gorgeous scenery, very peaceful and well placed for Hartington and visiting the rest of the Peaks.Would benefit from a deep clean and some more provisions for guests: logs for the fire, matches, dustpan and brush, bin liner as well as better communication as to how to contact with any issues.

The cottage is located in a beautifully tranquil location with good instructions on how to find it. You may have to give way to the local heard of cattle on the last leg, but they eventually take the hint.The Dovedale Cottage would appear to have been partly renovated with the lounge downstairs and the upstairs double room, twin room, bathroom and wc all appearing slightly more modern over the kitchen and main double room and ensuite.The accommodation is very spacious with great views to the front and a semi-enclosed lawned area to the rear. There is some outdoor chairs and a table, but not sufficient for dining and certainly not enough if 6 were staying. Some of the images on the web-site would appear to be relating to other cottages.We were welcomed by Beth who looks after the change overs.Make sure you initially take everything you need as there is no 'welcome pack at all.' Not even any milk, which for the standard of cottage and comparable ones that we have stayed in, is unusual these days? There was also only one bottle of hand soap in the upstairs w.c. and a lack of cleaning products in general. Although a handful of dishwasher tablets were provided we had to ask for some washing up liquid for pots and pans. Again small details, but given the standard of property, mis-matched cutlery, cracked and chipped plates, no oven gloves, etc these are all things we would not expect in a cottage for this price, standard and certainly not what we have experienced elsewher in the past.Our daughter joined us after a couple of days and was planning to stay for longer, but had to curtail he stay as unfortunately the general cleanliness of the cottage triggered some of her allergies. I am not talking about bugs and cobwebs, which you expect in stone barn conversion country cottage. Dovedale basically needs a Deep Clean. The leather sofa's are ingrained with dirt over time, behind the sofas are quite a lot of dead bugs and beetles etc. and the shower tray is stained brown. Some of the carpets upstairs are stained and again, just need a really good clean. Not a simple change over one. If these matters were addressed then Dovedale Cottage would be a great place to stay. Hartington village is quaint with a couple of pubs, tea and coffee shops and and some nice circular walks.

A lovely cottage in a remote location with stunning views. A short drive to Harrington with a village store, farm shop, tea rooms, cheese shop and pub restaurants - excellent range for such a small village. There’s also lots to do within a short drive. The drive to the cottage is a little off the beaten track and some of the roads have a lot of pot holes. The cottage is very cozy, warm and generally well equipped. The only issues we had were there being no attachment to the hoover, no iron (ironing board available) and poor sound proofing so we could hear the neighbours talking next door and their TV, and if you were upstairs talking, you could hear the conversation downstairs very clearly and hear the tv upstairs - not an issue other than travelling with a little one trying to sleep. The floorboard are also very creaky, but to be expected. We would stay again and felt it was very good value for money. The key holders were very responsive when we have a query regarding internet, and the lady who lives behind was very friendly and offered some suggestions for days out.
