Moorecroft is a spacious, open-plan, contemporary property with a large indoor swimming pool, a 7ft cinema screen with Sky Sports, and a games room.
The property is decorated and furnished to a high standard with many quirky features. It is powered by OVO green energy. Cavendish Golf Club is 5 minutes’ walk from the house, and a walk from the front door into the hills or a stroll into the heart of Buxton takes only 10 minutes. Buxton has much to offer including its spectacular Pavilion Gardens, the amazing Devonshire Dome with its Victorian spa, the opera house, as well as unique shops and restaurants to cater for all tastes. Guests may like to arrange a visit to coincide with a show at the Buxton Opera House which is a fantastic venue for all sorts of shows. Comedians such as Alan Carr and John Richardson have all made appearances, as well as music from Russell Watson, The Buzzcocks, Bellowhead and Scouting for girls. Tribute bands to Pink Floyd, Abba and Queen have also featured, as well as many plays, operas and children’s shows. There is an abundance of places to visit from stately homes such as Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, together with many great villages to visit. The adventure park Go Ape and Alton Towers is worth a visit, or enjoy visiting caverns, cycling along trails, golf at Buxton or stride out on one of the numerous walks. Shops, pubs and restaurants 500 yards away.

We booked Moorecroft for a family holiday for 8 people. Mostly they were in their seventies with one in her 50s and a further granddaughter in her 20s. The facilities in the accommodation were excellent. Full use was made of the pool, games room and cinema room. The property had adequate equipment for the numbers staying and the kitchen in particular was well equipped. The only down side was that, given most of the party were in their seventies, the stairs proved to be a bit troublesome at times. However that aside everything else was very comfortable and the fact it was near to the town of Buxton was a bonus. Buxton was easily accessible on foot, down a hill but a little daunting coming back for some of the older members of the party. However there was public transport available that went right past the house and a taxi ride was only a little more than £3, if you did not fancy the walk back up the hill.Overall a good experience
