Heathylee is a well-received cottage in the Peak District, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and prime location for walking and exploring nearby attractions. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, spacious rooms, and the thoughtful touches from the owners. While there are minor maintenance issues, the overall experience is highly positive, with many looking forward to returning.
Guests consistently note the cottage's cleanliness, with several reviews highlighting it as 'spotless' and 'first class'. The high standard of cleanliness contributes significantly to the positive experience.
The location is frequently commended for its quiet setting, proximity to local amenities, and ease of access to walking routes and attractions. The village charm and scenic views are also appreciated.
Comfort is a strong point, with guests finding the beds warm and comfortable, and the property spacious. Some minor issues with low door frames and a cold house on arrival are noted, but overall, the comfort level is high.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and ample space. However, there are comments about maintenance issues such as a noisy bathroom extractor fan, a jamming toilet door, and a non-responsive DVD player, which slightly impact the score.
The owners' thoughtfulness is mentioned positively, with welcome gifts like biscuits and milk noted. However, as these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, they are a delightful bonus rather than an expectation.

Very comfortable. We enjoyed a lovely week with the family here. Plenty of room. It was lovely and cosy.

We loved staying there, plenty of space for 8 people from 3 generations coming together. We all agreed this may have been the nicest place any of us ever rented. It was super clean, so well equipped, and the owners were really helpful. They location was lovely. Amazing view too!

Upon on arrival the heating was not on so the house did not feel welcoming . The heating timer was programmed to come on hours after our arrival. Everyday we had to contact the owner to put the heating back on as we were cold, having to sit with blankets on during the evenings. For a winter break this was a disappointing stay for us. If the heating issue can be sorted then this would be a lovely place stay.
