Goldcrest is a well-received holiday cottage in Meerbrook, praised for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and beautiful location. Guests have enjoyed the ample space for large groups, welcoming atmosphere, and thoughtful touches like decorations and treats. The local pub and scenic walks add to the charm, making it a popular choice for family gatherings and group retreats.
Guests consistently mention the property being spotlessly clean and smelling lovely upon arrival, indicating high standards of cleanliness.
The property's location is highly praised for its stunning views, proximity to local attractions, and great walking opportunities, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility.
Reviews highlight the property's comfort, with spacious rooms and ample seating. A few comments on dated furniture slightly impact the score, but overall comfort is rated highly.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and ample dining space. However, some guests noted a need for more storage and kitchen equipment, and there was a mention of a sewerage issue, which suggests room for improvement in maintenance.
Many guests appreciated the thoughtful gestures such as wine, chocolates, and decorations. While these gifts are warmly received, it's important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.
A superb detached stone barn conversion, on a former working farm near Leek, with underfloor heating, open fire and impressive full-length window with wonderful countryside views. One of three cottages, this property is next to Refs. 3563 and 3565, together they sleep 33.
The village of Meerbrook is on the edge of a popular walking area known as the Roaches, and is just four miles from the market town of Leek. Meerbrook is a short walk away from Tittesworth reservoir, which offers many activities and has a visitor's centre. Buxton is only 12 miles away and has a wider choice of places to eat and an interesting selection of shops. The town's museum is well worth a visit as is the Opera House, with its wide variety of entertainment on offer. Spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you need for your break. Great location. This is a hidden gem and a stay here is highly recommended.

The house was perfect, there was plenty of space in the barn to accommodate our party of 11. With 5 lovely bedroom, 3 of which were en suite and a beautiful fire in the lounge we felt very comfortable. Suzanne was incredibly helpful with any questions we had, she recommended the pub for food which again was very nice. We all had a lovely stay at Goldcrest.

Otherwise this place was fantastic! Rooms were great sizes, perfect space for hosting our trip! Would highly recommend booking one of the cottages if you are planning a group trip to the peak district! The heated floor in the kitchen was a nice addition!
