Rustle up a delicious dinner for two in the fully-equipped kitchen, which features a glass-door fridge, coffee maker, and a breakfast bar where you can savour your meals. When it’s time to relax, crack open a bottle of wine and take a seat in the sitting area, where you can enjoy a film on the wall-mounted Smart TV whilst perched on a plush sofa. As day rolls into night, head to the shower room to wash away the day, before you head to the bedroom, a sumptuous sanctuary complete with a second Smart TV and an inviting super-king-size bedroom. Further afield, jump in the car and head west into Stockport, where you can pay a visit to Staircase House or Vernon Park, before heading back to Disley via the Marple Aqueduct and Etherow Country Park in nearby Marple Bridge. For a day out, explore the numerous wonders of the Peak District National Park, such as the scenic spots of Kinder Downfall or Froggatt Edge, or the National Trust sites of Dark Peak and Lyme.

Disley is a thriving village on the borders of North West Derbyshire and Cheshire, an area known as the High Peak, near the Derbyshire Peak District. The village has a range of amenities including pubs, a village Post Office, restaurants and an excellent butcher. Disley is home to magnificent NT Lyme Park, where Pride and Prejudice starring Colin Firth was filmed. Some wonderful walks and cycle trails are on the doorstep, and close by is the little town of New Mills, with the Torrs Riverside Park a place for recreation and relaxation. The Torrs Millennium Walkway, a much-admired bridge, is set deep in the gorge and attracts many visitors. Chapel-en-le-Frith, the ‘Capital of the Peaks’, is only 7 miles away, boasting a cobbled market place and historic old stocks. Within easy driving distance is the delightful spa town of Buxton, famous not only for its therapeutic spring water, but also for its Pavillion Gardens and splendid Victorian Opera House, which boasts a variety of shows, attracting people from all over the world. Within easy driving distance are the Blue John show caves at Castleton, the Chestnut Centre Otter & Owl Sanctuary, and many stately homes, such as Chatsworth House. An ideal base for exploring the whole of the Peak District.

..it had everything we wanted...or needed!!! Massive bed, comfy seats, fully modern kitchen, off road parking...and a gigantic TV!!! Rita Ann was the perfect host, very friendly, but never intrusive. Thanks very much for a wonderful week in your fantastic holiday cottage!!! We hope to be back in the future.
