The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful countryside, and proximity to local attractions and walks. The presence of a friendly local pub within walking distance and the scenic views, including a steam train, add to the appeal.

Guests found the beds comfortable and the property cosy and warm, with ample space for relaxation. However, some guests mentioned low ceilings and beams that could be a concern for taller individuals, slightly impacting the comfort score.

The property is well-equipped with a kitchen that guests found satisfactory, and ample bathroom facilities. Some guests experienced minor issues with plumbing and kitchen equipment, but these were not widespread concerns.

While many guests appreciated the owner's helpfulness and the property's amenities, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would fall under 'thoughtfulness'. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

The kitchen is well equipped, making it possible to cook and entertain six people, or more!? There is a ground floor bedroom, with an ensuite bathroom, a ground floor WC, 3 more bedrooms upstairs, one with a huge ensuite. Huge fireplace and gorgeous Aga woodburner is in the sitting room, where a huge seating area and seriously big coffee table sits. Gorgeous wooden floors compliment the 400 year old oak beams and wall frames. The garden is huge and completely enclosed, so wonderful for children and dogs - ours charged around the space happily. Lots of garden furniture and a barbecue for outdoor dining etc. The beds were very comfortable, as were the dining chairs! There is masses of storage space and walk-in wardrobes. Parking car is easy, and the property is easy to find. There's a great pub a short walk up the road serving lovely food, with a good range of beers and wines. A lovely circular walk takes you around the village and through local countryside. The owner lives next door, and we had the best greeting and welcome. There are a couple of Yew trees in the garden, so be aware of dropped berries.

Mod cons in kitchen included washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, oven and 4 induction hobs. The bedrooms are all a decent size, not at all cramped, two of them en-suite, with an additional family shower room upstairs and a downstairs toilet. The living room is also an excellent size, with plenty of comfy seating and a separate snug just off the living room. The mature garden is huge and was excellent for enjoying the last of the summer sun. Mandy, the host, was welcoming and provided suggestions for nearby attractions to visit.

We all enjoyed the big garden and watching the steam train across the field at the weekend. Mandy, the host, tailormade a list of suggested outings and was on hand to recommend walks and places to visit within walking distance. She could not have been more helpful while we were there, and we appreciated her phone call the day before to answer any questions that might have arisen on both sides.
