To the west, the historic town of Battle (5 miles) has popular landmarks, including Battle Abbey and the site of the Battle of Hastings. Hastings itself is to the south (7 miles), with attractions including Hastings Castle, Hastings Aquarium and Smugglers Adventure, as well as a sand and shingle beach with a Victorian pier and bustling promenade. Other popular destinations include the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill, Brede Steam Giants and Great Dixter House and Gardens, all within 10 miles.
