Dating from the early 18th Century and set within 2 acres of land, The Farmhouse is a rustic and characterful dog friendly property with direct Forest access.
The Farmhouse is a rustic retreat set within 2 acres of grounds with space to run free and with the open Forest just across the road. Full of charm and character, parts of the farmhouse date back over 300 years. With low beamed ceilings, quarry tiled floors and many original features, you feel a sense of history the moment you enter through the heavy oak door. Downstairs there is plenty of space to spread out, with a cosy lounge/diner, complete with log burner, squishy sofas and large TV, leading into a bright vine-filled sun room with garden views. The well-equipped country kitchen has a range cooker for home-cooked meals, a walk-in pantry and all other modern conveniences. A small breakfast room just off the kitchen offers a separate space for kids mealtimes, and this leads into a study and onto a separate snug, with seating and TV.
Upstairs there are four comfortable bedrooms, with the master bedroom offering an adjoining bedroom, complete with wooden cot and full size single bed bed, ideal for a baby/young child to sleep close to parents. The bathroom is conveniently placed between all bedrooms, and there is the benefit of an additional cloakroom. The farmhouse is perfect for a large group of friends, families and four-legged friends alike!
Just a short stroll from The Farmhouse takes you to the open Forest, with miles of heathland to explore - enjoy walking, cycling or horse riding amongst the free-roaming ponies, cattle and donkeys. Set between a vineyard complete with local farm shop, and a New Forest micro-brewery, it is a perfect location from which to stock up on all those holiday essentials. There is even a cosy country pub that can be reached along a short footpath. The Georgian market town of Lymington is a short drive away, as is the popular New Forest village of Brockenhurst with a selection of pubs, cafes and shops and bicycle hire. The coast is within easy travelling distance for long, lazy beach days. Other local attractions include Beaulieu National Motor Museum, Hurst Castle and Lymington Sea Water Swimming Baths, with inflatable course, paddle board and kayak hire.
Please note the owner of the property lives in a separate barn on site.
