Curlew Cottage in Lymington is praised for its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and spaciousness, with a well-equipped kitchen and a welcoming garden. The property's location is ideal for exploring the New Forest and local amenities. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, though some maintenance issues and dog-friendly terms have been noted.
The property consistently receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning it being 'spotlessly clean' and 'very clean'.
The location is frequently described as convenient and ideal for exploring Lymington, Dorset, and the New Forest, with amenities and dog-friendly walks within easy reach.
Comfort is highlighted with mentions of comfortable beds and furnishings. However, some guests noted issues with low headroom and high steps, which slightly impacted the comfort score.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and spacious garden. However, maintenance issues such as a non-working TV, stiff locks, and worn cookware have been reported, affecting the score.
While guests mention a welcome pack of treats, as a copy-writer, I must state that such gifts are not guaranteed. There is not enough information to assess overall thoughtfulness consistently across reviews.

A few niggling problems though. The shower is very awkward to access and the shower screen was impossible to use effectively, whilst the bathroom window was adjacent to the bath/shower and got soaked each time the shower was used. We had difficulty opening the key safe which is situated in a very difficult position. The manager confirmed that everyone had a problem with this. On trying to vacuum throughout after a day or so I had to turn the vacuum cleaner off because of the awful smell it emitted - this was obviously caused by dog hairs as was the brush Minor things that were irritating.

The biggest issue we had is that this property is advertised as dog friendly, as soon as you arrive and look at the information folder the first thing you see is a list of rules like no dogs on furniture, fair enough. Don't let dog upstairs, no stairgate provided. Don't let the dog go to the toilet in the garden, as children play in the garden. Get the point but as a responsible pet owner I always clean up after the dog, it would help if there was a hose in the back garden to wash down where the dog had been, noticed hose outside on the drive way but too short to get to the garden if the dog were to go in the garden. Good news is there is a nice little park 2 to 3 mins away. So, dog friendly, I'm not so sure!! Overall a good property but disappointed with the size of the bathroom and list of dog rules.
