About this property

Resting in the centre of the port town of Lymington, just on the edge of the New Forest National Park, lies this delightful, four-bedroom holiday home, Oaks Reach. With off-road parking for two cars and a dinghy trailer, great access to nearby amenities, and bright, airy living spaces, this property welcomes a family or group of six, and one well-behaved dog for a fuss-free, self-catered stay in the heart of Hampshire. After you've parked up and unpacked, make yourself at home in your new dwelling by rustling up a delicious, home-cooked feast in the well-equipped kitchen, before settling down to savour your meal at the dining table or gathered on the plush sofas in the sitting room whilst you enjoy a film on the TV. In warmer months, head out into the serene, secured back garden, where you and your loved ones can lounge on the furnished, paved patio as you raise a glass to toast your getaway. When sleep calls, four inviting bedrooms, including a king-size with en-suite shower and wall-mounted TV, await to whisk you off to a night of well-earned slumber. If you can tear yourself away from your peaceful lodgings, head into Lymington to stock up on essentials at the Tesco Express or Waitrose that lie just a short stroll from your front door, grab a pick 'n mix from Truffles of Lymington or a sourdough loaf from Hoxton Bakehouse, or settle down for a meal at The White Hart pub or The Magic Duck if you fancy a break from cooking one evening. Alternatively, you also grab a takeaway from Happy Times or Pennington Fish & Chips for you to enjoy back at your abode. In town, you can indulge in some window-shopping along the characterful, Georgian high street, home to a wealth of pubs and restaurants. The Pennington Common is a great place to walk your canine companion, whilst you can also find the Lymington Yacht Club, where a huge sea water swimming pool is available to all! For a peaceful afternoon, head to the Lymington Quay, where you can enjoy a peaceful stroll alongside the cool waters of the Lymington River. Further afield, head into the nearby New Forest, where a short drive will bring you to the village of Lyndhurst, home to the New Forest Heritage Centre museum, whilst a number of notable landmarks can be found within easy reach of the settlement, including Whitefield Moor, the New Forest Wildlife Park, Furzey Gardens, and the Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary. Perfect for making memories any time of year, bring your loved ones for an unforgettable stay at Oaks Reach.

Between the western end of The Solent and the southern border of the New Forest National Park, the beautiful market town of Lymington is located on the west bank of the Lymington River. In addition to being a popular sailing destination, there are frequent ferry connections to the Isle of Wight. You might treat yourself to a dinner at one of the many nearby restaurants, or you can browse the town's many unique boutiques and craft stores. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounds Lymington, ranging from the heathlands and historic woodlands of the New Forest to the coastal nature reserves that stretch about five miles and stop at the shingle spit where Henry viii's Hurst Castle, completed in 1554, is located. From Lymington, it is possible to go to the New Forest, the Isle of Wight, and the Hampshire coast.

not just us previous reviews show problems with the hot water had no heating for the first 4 days and you cannot have a hot bath as the boiler cannot maintain running hot water showers go warm to cold same as in the previous reviews the porch was buried in leaves when we arrived very dirty under sofas and beds when i took my case down from on top of the wardrobe i got covered in dust saucepans dirty baking trays dirty and the back garden is very unkempt same as previous reviews the property owner didn't care about the heating and hot water issues to quote what do you want me to about it. had to wait in for 2 different plumbers all this while on holiday which is not good enough and shame on Sykes cottages for doing nothing about the problems we spoke to Rachel and she did nothing we have rented many properties for our holidays from Sykes but that obviously didn't matter it ruined our holiday and we came home early.

Well equipped. Comfortable beds. Showers not good and need attention as they would suddenly run cold or very hot!! Also one of the baby toys went under the sofa and I don’t think it had been moved to be cleaned for months.

Adequate parking. Kitchen well stocked and good size. Living & dining room good size. Bedrooms fine. Good supplies provided. Just little things let it down, window ledge in kitchen paint falling off and blind not working. No welcome/info file which would have been helpful. Bins not emptied outside from previous visitors. Garden in a mess as previous comments, scruffy and trees from neighbour growing over garden and loads of acorns everywhere and still dropping. Floorboards upstairs dreadfully noisy and need addressing. These things would bring this house up to a higher standard.
