When you can pull yourself away from the comfort of 16 Marinus, there is plenty to explore nearby. Just a short stroll away is the popular town of Cowes where you can pick up a treat in one of the many boutique shops and when you are ready to rest your feet and refuel, you will be spoilt for choice with many tempting restaurants and cafés at your feet.
For those wishing to be active during their stay, lace up your walking boots and head to the coastal path where can find the famous Needles chalk stack. Alternatively, if being on the water is more your playground, then you can spend your days kayaking, paddle boarding or learning to sail. From beginner to advanced, there is plenty of opportunity to create memories to last a lifetime.

There is a lift up to the apartment which is on the 3rd floor.
Scaffolding is currently up on the outside of the building from now till the 21st of August 2026 approximately. The Bedroom Views are affected.
The work on the inside courtyard area will also run from 22nd October 2025 to 23rd November 2026, approximately, during which scaffolding will also be in place. The living room view will also then be affected.

This was our third visit to 16 Marinus and as we approached we were shocked to see the building covered in scaffolding and blue netting. Thankfully the balcony was unaffected but the view from both bedrooms was obliterated. We were woken on our first morning to the sight of workmen working right outside the third floor bedroom windows. It’s a shame we weren’t warned beforehand. However, despite poor weather we had a lovely week and would come back for a fourth visit.

This is a spacious and well equipped property in a great location and with superb views. However there are some issues which have been mentioned several times by previous renters that continue to be ignored by the owners. These are:Loose toilet seatsDirty crockery and glassesDirty chair coversGenerally the apartment is in desperate need of a deep clean including high surfaces, kitchen drawers and cupboards and under the beds. We could write our names in the dust on the shelf above the cooker hob. It is a great pity as this property should be getting 5 stars. It needs some serious care and attention as the current standard is not acceptable.To top it all off the lift was not working for our whole stay which caused my wife and I great inconvenience. No prior warning was given for this and there was no sign of any repairs being attempted all week.
