About this property
This characterful house, just outside the celebrated sailing town of Cowes (1 mile), is the perfect setting for a gathering of family or friends to share a holiday or special occasion. Set in a beautiful valley close to the River Medina, it sleeps 12 guests and welcomes two pets. The property has a large, enclosed garden surrounded by mature trees, with a trampoline and fun outdoor games for children. Pretty Cowes has shops, restaurants and pubs, with beach and promenade views of the bustling harbour and across the Solent.
The spacious dining room has an open fireplace and glass doors to the garden. From the well-equipped kitchen, step into the cosy living room with plush sofas and doors to the garden. Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom with an additional single bed, a bathroom, and a snug with a sofa bed. Upstairs are two king-size bedrooms, one with a balcony overlooking the garden, as well as a bunk bedroom with a further twin set too. A family bathroom completes this welcoming holiday home. Outside, the secluded, half-acre garden has a generous patio with a table for ten, pretty seating and a BBQ. A large garden studio which can accommodate up to two extra guests is available on request.
Wonderful coast and country walks abound, along with scenic cycle trails. Join the long-distance Bembridge Trail from Newport (2 miles) for splendid views. Explore historic Carisbrooke Castle (3.5 miles), where Charles I was imprisoned before his execution. Climb steep steps to walk along the battlements for a bird’s eye view and meet the resident donkeys. Italianate Osborne House (2 miles), Queen Victoria’s beloved rural retreat, is set in beautiful gardens and has grand reception rooms and artwork.
