Beautifully presented, this superb Victorian house offers spacious, well-equipped holiday accommodation and has been lovingly restored. It enjoys a wealth of character and original features such as high ceilings and sweeping carved wood staircase, combined with modern kitchen and bathroom (one of which has a romantic freestanding Victorian roll-top bath with open fire). Situated in one of Ventnor’s most scenic areas opposite the attractive park, the cottage is a short stroll from the esplanade, botanical gardens, beach, local pubs and restaurants. Shop 1/2 mile.

We have had a fantastic week on the IoW and staying at Candlelight Cottage was the icing on the cake. Great location near the beach, shops, park and Botanic gardens. The Cottage was very clean and spacious with everything you need. The welcome gifts were fantastic and well received. Would definitely stay again.

Great location, the house has character, although it has been subdivided. We found the driveway tricky - it was hard to get family and luggage out both sides, so we parked on the road when we could. The house has style but is sadly in need of a fresh coat of paint throughout. More concerningly, there was mould particularly in the utility and on windows. It also needs a really deep clean in parts (kitchen, utility, skirting boards, doors and the microwave set directly on the fridge, which was filthy all around it). This place could be wonderful but for nearly £2k for a week, significant investment is needed to make it anything like a home from home. We did appreciate the welcome package which was lovely.

It was a lovely place to stay, loads of space, everything you needed, peaceful, loved sitting out the front in the sunshine. Great with the dog, having the park opposite.
