Grounds with sitting-out area and garden furniture. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. The Stable is a beautiful red brick Grade II listed building and is set in the middle of magnificent parkland with mature trees, roaming sheep and an equestrian cross-country course. This unique, period property is an annexe of a larger coach house built in 1770, and is full of character reflecting its old use.
On the ground floor, you will find the living room with a wood burner, and the kitchen is well equipped, whilst the windows look out onto the coach house courtyard. On the first floor, you will find the bedrooms in the old hayloft. The Stable was renovated in 2020 to reflect the charm of the old building, but with modern touches like underfloor heating and excellent fibre optic broadband.
A framed map on the wall will help you to plan one of many beautiful walks onto the North Downs Way, The Pilgrims Way and more. The welcome pack includes a summary of things to do and places to visit, such as local farm shops, restaurants and walks nearby.
The Stable is a short 7-mile drive from the historic city of Canterbury, which is served by many shops, cafés and restaurants. Dover Castle and the White Cliff, along with several beaches, including Sandwich Bay, Minnis Bay, Whitstable and more, are within 12 miles. Why not take a trip to Deal, a gem of a coastal town just 17 miles away, and has cafés, independent shops and a fabulous fish & chip shop. A bus stop that delivers a regular bus service to Canterbury and Folkestone is a mere 15-minute walk away through the beautiful parkland. Beach 11½ miles. Pub 2½ miles and restaurant 4½ miles.

The stable is a wonderful holiday base in beautiful peaceful surroundings. It is decorated and furnished to a high standard with lots of character. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows soft, the kitchen was well equipped with the most crockery and pans of anywhere I have stayed.There were footpaths to walk the beautiful NorthDowns from the house. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

The Stables is in a quiet and peaceful location surrounded by parkland.The cottage is clean and well-equipped and tv and cooker were simple to operate.The road network in the area is efficient and not too busy easy to get to places.

We had a lovely holiday in Kent as the area was good with nice castles and seaside places. We did find the stable less comfortable than we expected from previous reviews. The beds were very hard and the pillows were not very supportive. The lounge furniture wasn’t very comfortable especially the two small chairs. It could do with another sofa as it accommodates 4 people. We like to play games at the table and found those chairs weren’t good to sit on for longer sittings. The bathrooms were good and the kitchen was fairly well equipped. We did have to buy our own kitchen roll and surface cleaner. The outside area was smaller than we expected as it said in the paperwork that we could only access the gravel area and not use any of the grass areas which seemed strange as there was a set of boules for us to use in the lounge. This isn’t a place that we would use again. We were surprised that we had to leave the property by 9am as this is usually 10am so we had to get up very early. Not a great way to end a holiday!
