Overall, guests enjoy a cosy, memorable stay in a characterful property with great amenities.

Most guests found the property clean and comfortable, with particular praise for the beds and general tidiness. However, a few reviews mention issues such as blocked sinks, drain smells, and tired furnishings, which slightly detract from the overall impression.

A lovely retreat to spend quality time with family to celebrate my son’s 21st birthday. The accommodation was very comfortable and the hot tub plus log burner used daily. The pub next door was ideal for our evening meals and being located in the countryside made for lovely walks and scenery.

We enjoyed our stay at the annex, the downstairs of which has been created from some of the old pub rooms and still retains some of its period features such as etched glass windows in the doors and a swing door into the living room. This is matched by the quirky decor which gives the property a delightfully old fashioned and cosy vibe. The addition of a hot tub in the private patio area was also very welcome. I have deducted a star because there no instructions how to use the appliances other than the air fryer and some of the furnishings were a bit tired, such as a broken blinds in the living room and one of the bedrooms.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hook and Hatchet annexe….. very cosy and comfortable . We faced a few setbacks though…. We were looking forward to using the hot tub, but, that never got hot, hence we couldn’t use it. We also noticed that, there was no common washroom … 🤔If we were to use the room right at the top, we would have to share a washroom with people staying in other bedrooms with en suites?? The biggest set back was, no light above the main door? Took us a few minutes to open the door with our phone torches.. The kitchen is well equipped but, no spatula or soup bowls …. Otherwise , very happy with air fryer, microwave, dishwasher etc … All in all, we had a wonderful relaxing weekend ..Thank you
