Hare House in Chipping Norton is praised for its great location, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciate the property's character and proximity to local amenities. While some mention issues with parking and noise, the overall experience is positive, with several guests expressing a desire to return.
Cleanliness is generally well-regarded, with mentions of the property being 'very clean' and 'tidy'. However, some guests noted dust, grubby areas, and a stale smell, which suggests room for improvement.
The location is highly praised for its convenience to shops, pubs, and restaurants, with many guests appreciating the easy access to local amenities and the town centre. Parking is noted as an issue by some, but it does not significantly detract from the overall positive feedback on location.
Comfort is frequently commended, with guests finding the beds exceptionally comfortable and the house cosy. Some guests felt that space was tight for six people and that additional seating could enhance comfort.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable living areas. However, guests have pointed out maintenance issues such as broken blinds and the lack of certain amenities like microwaves and mirrors, which affects the score.
Guests have mentioned welcome gifts, which were appreciated, indicating thoughtfulness. However, as not all reviews reference gifts and to ensure expectations are managed, it should be noted that such gestures, while delightful, are not guaranteed.
Hare House is a truly neat-as-a-pin town house as one could wish for. Set across three floors and stylishly updated for families and small groups, this gem of a holiday home is the perfect spot to make the most of Chipping Norton. Located a few moments from the market square, this gorgeous home has a lovely, cosy feel to it warm and welcoming with colour and style that makes it feel like it's fresh from the pages of a magazine! The owners clearly have a good eye for style, yet have kept it simple and restful and nicely uncluttered. The flare also comes to life with the little pictures of rabbits and hares you will come across.
Inside, there is a spacious living room with wood burner, a compact but well equipped kitchen for your inner Nigella... whilst upstairs are three large bedrooms and two luxury bathrooms, all large and airy and with plenty of space to spread out and relax. Outside is a small gravelled terrace area, but to be honest you are just as likely to pop up the street to one of the local cool cafes to save on your washing up!! We really like Hare House and love its 'feel'.
The ancient town of Chipping Norton, steeped in history and culture, is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in the shadow of the Rollright Hills in this unspoilt area of Oxfordshire. Blenheim Palace, Rousham House and Gardens and numerous National Trust properties are close by, and a little further afield Stratford Upon Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare, and the magnificent university town of Oxford are a real delight.

Loved the original features, despite being on a busy road once the windows were shut, we didn't hear much at all. Clean and tidy, location was great

Having said that it does sit on a very busy main road which is double yellow lined, (making the front & only garden very noisy) there is no where to park even to unload, the parking was a real problem during our stay. The long stay car park is nearby, 12 hours free but no return with in 24. No welcome pack on arrival, but also no toilet paper in any of the three toilets with in the property ? It also had an Ant infestation in the living room on arrival, which was dealt with very quickly by the letting agent.
