Thalassa is a "Quirky" property in a lovely, beachfront location. We were initially concerned by some of the recent reviews, but it was spotlessly clean, comfortable and quiet. The location, directly onto the (shingle) beach is super and the views are outstanding, whatever the weather. I believe the sleeping accomodation was originally two railway carriages, so is a bit snug, but the beds were comfortable and it was very quiet. All in all a nice place to stay, with several shops, pubs and eating establishments within easy reach.

We completely fell in love with this place. It’s absolutely gorgeous ❤️It’s not modern but has everything you need for a super holiday. I didn’t miss the dishwasher which I thought I might. But the washing machine and tumble dryer were fantastic for the end of our week. If I was the owner, I might replace the bath with a walk in shower but it may not be possible. It’s a ‘character’ property, with interesting features and a quirky history, warm with good double glazing, roomy yet cosy, quiet corners for those who might want them. It’s private despite the panoramic windows to the sea view. We felt safe and secure. It was SO peaceful. There’s plenty of comfortable seating, (which the photos didn’t show) and loads of extra bedding and throws when needed. Also, soft garden chairs and loungers, in addition to the hard Patio furniture. Yes, there were a couple of chipped crockery pieces but I’m certain that the owners will replace anything that is directly communicated. The photos didn’t do this property full justice which made me feel nervous when booking. We couldn’t tell if the 4th bedroom had been photographed. We only needed that one photo of the view in context from inside the bungalow. We would have preferred more of the interior. But it resulted in us being very happily surprised. With regards to previous negative comments about the comfort of the beds: The beds were absolutely fine. Beds are subjective. Nothing will be as comfortable as your own, especially if you have specific back issues. Take your own mattress toppers if you think you need them. All four beds were used and none of us had issues. We are aged between 58-82years.Will we return? Absolutely 💯 Brilliant value for money.Happy holidays! ☀️ 😎
