Guests say

Thalassa offers a unique and charming seaside escape, with its standout beachfront location and quirky railway carriage bedrooms. Guests consistently praise the stunning views, peaceful atmosphere, and proximity to local amenities and attractions. The property is well-suited for families and those seeking a relaxing break. While some mention areas for improvement, such as kitchen size, dated furnishings, and occasional maintenance issues, the overall experience is positive, with many guests returning for repeat stays and recommending the cottage for its character and unbeatable setting.

Several guests found the property clean and well-presented, but a few noted issues such as cobwebs, musty wardrobes, and the need for a more thorough clean in some areas. Cleanliness appears to vary between stays.

The location is universally praised, with direct beach access, beautiful sea views, and easy reach of local shops and attractions. Guests highlight the peaceful setting and convenience for exploring the area.

Most guests found the property comfortable and cosy, enjoying the spacious living areas and unique bedrooms. Some mentioned uncomfortable beds, small kitchen, and dated towels or bedding, but these did not detract significantly from their stay.

Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen, washing machine, and plenty of seating. However, guests noted the kitchen is small, some equipment is dated or in need of replacement, and outdoor furniture could be improved.

There are no specific mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

We had a lovely time. Our grandchildren enjoyed the beach before breakfast, before bedtime and in-between enjoyed the space to play. They were introduced to Captain Pugwash and Ivor the Engine. The only disappointment was that the piano needs tuning and we could have done with some summer-weight duvets but overall a really good cottage.

Fabulous location on the beach front.Parking for two cars. Very clean on arrival Kitchen very small and no cupboard space for our food to be put away, full of crockery which some had chips on which had been mentioned on pervious reviews. Cutlery cheap plastic, no decent glasses, we went out and bought some to use for the week. Cheese grater handle broken, tea towels and dish cloth smelly. Bedrooms clean and we found beds comfy, towels small and a bit thread bear, we didn't use as this was also mentioned in pervious reviews so we took our own.Out side seating metal bistro style chairs cushions provided but not too comfy to sit on, loungers with cushions for outside but very old rusty and very low, getting on them ok but getting off as a later aged person very difficult so only used once. Camp style chairs also provided but also low and torn. Shower curtain needs replacing, Fabulous place to stay just needs some TLC and action taken on reviews especially as most things in quite a few of the reviews. Lots of fantastic books and puzzles which we took full advantage of in the evenings.Fabulous location, co-op very near 5 min walk. Recommend cafe excellent fish and chips.
