Maple Lodge has a peaceful setting right in the heart of the South Downs National Park, and it makes an idyllic rural retreat from day to day life. Set on a 160km National Trail, the lodge makes just the base for walkers keen to stretch their legs and see as much of the scenery as possible, and with carpets of bluebells and meadows of wildflowers as a backdrop depending on the season, every walk is one to remember. Who knows, you may even spot a red kite soaring high above.
There is so much to do and see in this area, from walking, cycling or horse riding across the Downs, exploring wildlife in the wetlands, visiting one of the many heritage sites to experiencing opera at the world famous Glyndebourne.
The site is adjacent to Hassocks community football club - it is likely guests will hear some low level match noise during games.

Our first time at Maple Lodge, but wont be the last. The photos dont do the lodge or the grounds justise, it was so lovely. So clean, well equiped and the perfect location. The beds were so comfy and i loved the super soft towels. We were visiting family in the area and it was ideal. Recommend the fish & chip shop in Hassocks and we did a lovely walk from the Jill windmill to Ditchling beacon. We could not fault the lodge and cant wait to return.

Second time staying here. Excellent Lodge with all you could need for a comfortable stay. Garden centre next door is excellent for breakfast! Since our last stay an EV charger has been added which is a real bonus for us EV drivers.Excellent central location for the South Downs, we used an App called "Sussex Walks" which was great.
