Maple Lodge in Hassocks receives high praise for its peaceful setting, modern and spotless interiors, and excellent proximity to both local amenities and scenic walks. Guests consistently highlight the comfort of the beds, quality linens, and well-equipped kitchen. The lodge is dog-friendly and offers privacy, with a large deck and beautiful views. Minor maintenance issues and occasional comments about ants or broken items are noted but do not detract from overwhelmingly positive experiences. The nearby garden centre and thoughtful touches, such as welcome hampers, add to the appeal, making it a highly recommended retreat.
Guests frequently describe the lodge as spotlessly clean, with particular mention of fresh linens, immaculate bathrooms, and well-maintained interiors. Only a couple of minor issues, such as a dirty saucepan and a suggestion for a hoover, were mentioned.
The location is widely praised for its tranquillity, privacy, and convenience. Guests appreciate the proximity to Hassocks village, the railway station for easy access to Brighton, and the abundance of local walks and attractions.
Comfort is a standout feature, with guests highlighting super-comfy beds, quality furnishings, and a relaxing atmosphere. The lodge is described as spacious, light, and airy, contributing to a restful stay.
Facilities are generally excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen, modern bathrooms, and a large deck. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, such as loose door handles, a cracked toilet seat, and a broken fan, but these did not significantly impact overall satisfaction.

Maple Lodge Hassocks has every comfort you require. Do like the digi lock gate to get into the grounds. Bright and clean, well stocked kitchen, with teas, coffee and biscuits. Comfortable lounge area with plenty of seating. Beds very comfortable too and the bathrooms had luxury hand and shower wash.Large decking area was private with table, chairs, parasol plus 2 loungers. Could do with a couple of trays for taking drinks outside. The view of the Downs was lovely. Even though we could hear the trains it was not intrusive and we were entertained by the family of foxes every evening.Next door is very handy South Downs Garden Centre which is excellent for gifts etc but also food which was served quickly. They also have a deli/food department which sells freezer meals which we did have a couple of evenings.Hassocks is a short walk down the road.It was extremely hot when we stayed so we didn't get to do all the walking we wanted to but the surrounding area is so pretty so we'll have to return, if we can bear the horrendous M25 again that is. We did visit Pulborough Brooks and Arundel Wetland centre and did a couple of circular walks, Cissbury Ring and Newtimber Hill which were lovely for butterflies. So much more to see.Lewes is great for shopping but a nightmare to find parking. All I all, we were very impressed with Maple Lodge and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Please mend the very wobbly fan ready for the next heatwave though.

Lovely lodge, very clean and peaceful. Lots to do in the area even in bad weather. Lacking a bit in the personal touch and a little maintenance needed. For example, both French doors need adjusting, difficult to open. Fan stand in second bedroom broken. Hoover could do with an air freshener. En-suite bathroom door handle needs attention. Apart from that we had a wonderful time and beautiful views from the lodge watching the wildlife.

This was our third stay at Maple Lodge and it was even more fabulous than before. The surroundings are stunning and so well maintained. The lodge was spacious, very well equipped; they have literally thought of everything and beautifully clean. Thank you for the cleaning tip with the chrome showers - I've tried it and my showers are gleaming! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning again 😊
